Is it Just Me or Does McDonald's Coffee Really Suck?

People talk about it as if it's really good and that it's one of their redeeming qualities for being an otherwise shitty fast good chain.
I've only had their coffee a few times and I find it disgusting. It always tastes burnt and watered down. And I'm by no means a coffee afficianado. Dunkin Donuts is my general favorite though I think Starbucks makes better iced coffee.

It's good for the price.

Make sure you are going there when it's busy and it's more likely to be a fresh pot. Also it might vary a little by location. And yes, Dunkin' is better. It's my favorite of the national chains.

It's competent. It used to be undrinkable, and that says a lot coming from me. I'll drink almost any coffee. I'll happily drink a cup of McDonalds coffee now.

You're right its disgusting always burnt no matter the location or time. I prefer maxwell instant at home and got made fun of on here for drinking and enjoying year old folgers mixed with another brand when I was out of everything before my instant days. Either I just don't know good coffee or mcdonalds coffee is beyond low.

You'd prefer cheap home drip... I think you just don't know/appreciate coffee.

Perhaps you've had back luck with locations or something. I've enjoyed the coffee I've had from McD's. It is not better than specialty places or premium coffees used at home, but it's certainly better than the common vacuum-packed boring grocery brand coffees.

It seems like it went from terrible to decent and back to terrible. It got decent when McDonalds was really trying to push their coffee as a cheap alternative to Starbucks and I had no problem grabbing a cup if I was in a hurry. A couple of years ago it seems like they went back to whatever terrible coffee they were serving in the past.

This.

Better than gas station coffee generally. Plus convenience.

All coffee is overpriced. It's virtually free on a per cup basis. The cup costs more than the coffee inside. I carry my own in a thermos, and only use bought coffee when I run out.

Everything from McDonalds sucks. The burgers are like cardboard. The fries tastes nothing like potatoes. And the sauce that goes with it tastes horrible.

Your in PA??? stop whining, go to WAWA.

The coffee in Upstate NY McDonald's is pretty good, If it is sort of freshly brewed.

https://www.wawa.com/

I live in the York area and Ironically my nearest Wawa is in MD. And yes their coffee is pretty damn good but not easily available for me to obtain. I have family living in Westchester/Philly area and Wawas are everywhere. Down my way we're stuck with lousy Sheetz.

The local McD's coffee is pretty good, and cheap. Sometimes it's free for a small coffee with anything for breakfast, other times it's $1 for any size coffee. They're doing a good job of keeping out a Dunkin Donuts or Tim Hortons, which (in my opinion), would be bad for the community. We hear rumors all the time that someone wants to put in one or the other, but McD's has the market on coffee cornered fairly well, and the local grocery store has the donut market cornered fairly well, with far superior donuts to either of those chains.

It isn't undrinkable, but it certainly isn't the best. They, unlike every Starbucks I've ever been in, manages to not completely burn the coffee.

For the price, it is hard to beat it. Though, I am fairly particular with coffee because I don't load it up with garbage like sugar and cream / milk / creamer. If you like coffee and put 5 sugars and 2 creamers, you don't like coffee.

I'm not a coffee drinker but I've been told McD's is far better than Tim Hortons'. Which is a pretty sad statement on the quality of Timmy's products.

Their Arabica blend tastes strong in a good way for me. Coffee and Muffin deal is pretty good. I can't wait until their next Free Coffee week to stop in every day.

Very true. I make my own coffee to bring to work nearly every day and only buy it out when I don't have time to make it at home.

I've heard the opposite, I heard it's better than Tim Horton's. I always forget to actually go try it, McDonald's is kind of out of the way compared to Timmy's on my way to work.
