I saw one on its roof not too long ago on my drive in to work. My guess is someone turned off the TC and had a go at the throttle. As far as he was off the roadway and the fact that it was a single vehicle accident led me to that conclusion. Amazingly, he missed all the trees.
I have a friend who lives in Newport Coast. Land of the Ferrari and Lamborghini. I go to visit him and it would be astonishing if I didn't see at least 6-7 exotic cars. Common cars are the G-wagon and S-Class (AMG versions of course). His neighbor owns a Maserati, another one has a 458 Italia. My friend drives a new Hyundai Genesis sedan... he doesn't give a crap about cars and will probably get another Lexus RX350 when his lease is up on the Hyundai. His wife is the car nut. She's been eying the BMW i8 or possibly a Porsche GT3. Whatever one she gets I'm sure he'll let me drive it.
She was mildly interested in the Corvette when it first came out but they wouldn't let her drive one. Said she has to make a commitment to buy the car if they let her drive it. They said, "Um no. How about you let us drive it and if we like it we'll make you an offer." They pulled on the lot in a 1 year old BMW 650i Convertible, a car that cost $100k new (that was her second 650i in 4 years, the first was a coupe). Way to make a sale guys...
The problem with the Corvette is they only sell them at Chevy dealerships.
My guess is she went to a trash dealer. The closest dealer from my house has 5 Corvette's on the lot. I doubt they would say the same to someone wanting to check it out.
