I find any items that actually comes from Amazon usually comes within the same week so that's pretty good. Sometimes even within a few days.

The rest of the stuff that comes from China tends to take months. Typically I'm better off ordering from Ebay if I want it faster. I think the Amazon sellers are basically just reselling stuff from Ebay and they order it as you order it.

Speaking of Amazon I just spent over $900 just a while ago. 4x 100w solar panels, cables and mounting hardware. Going all in on my shed electrical. Yeah it would have been cheaper to run hydro from the house but I still wanted to do solar. Was going to wait to do this but figured why the heck not just bite the bullet and do it now. I'm about to build a deck, either way I'm ending this summer with a balance on my credit line.

I have Prime and I've noticed that packages are shipping later by a day, but arriving the next day, so I still get it within two days. Up until maybe a year ago packages would typically ship the same day I ordered them and arrive in two days.

No problem here in central Florida. Usually comes by USPS even on Sunday. Sometimes UPS and very few Fedex.

Rarely did I have a problem with Amazon until this week when I saw this post. I have had 1 package that never made it here due to being damaged in trasnit, another one was late and last of all a package was stolen because the Amazon delivery guy didn't ring the doorbell even though we were home and left the package on our front doorstep, which is pretty much on the sidewalk (very urban area)

All 1 or 2 day shipping with Prime.

The only times I've had packages come late are if they are delivered by Amazon delivery service. UPS or USPS always come on time for me.

I order once or twice per year and always from 3rd party sellers. It takes about 8 days for delivery.

I mostly support my local & smaller online stores. (somebody has too)

It's those "final leg" 3rd party, unnamed delivery folks that are dropping things off. They fricking show up in a rented Enterprise van and toss your package at the door.

I really don't understand how this system works.

Totally depends on where you live. I think the closest Amazon warehouses to me are maybe 150 miles away. They're always expanding and trying to bring more warehouse space online to help save themselves money on the shipping.

Hah, I ordered a blu-ray directly from amazon on 8/5, it said it would arrive 8/10-15 and it finally shipped out of the warehouse 8/14 ~11:30pm for delivery today by 9pm... was hoping to get it on the 10th or 11th since I usually get packages early, sometimes before the delivery window.

I noticed a lot of those too, sometimes it's even just a guy with mini van! Never had any actual issues with them though. Probably a cool gig for people without a job.

Now the replacement for the stolen package that should never have been stolen is late.

I think the cutoff for 2 day is 1 or 2PM. If I order before that time the prime deliveries are always two days. The Amazon webpage is never wrong for me. So 3 days instead of 2 days shows up when I checkout.

Makes no difference when Amazon sits on orders. The delivery agent can be on time, but if Amazon sites on your order for three business days when they have the stock in their warehouse and fail to actually ship it in less time it will be late no matter if God or Superman was the delivery agent.

I would say overall the amount of same or next day deliveries has gone up, but, at the same time I've had more missed deliveries this year than ever before with Amazon (and these were prime items). Now, we're still only talking about ~10 orders, but it is what it is.

I use Prime in CA and Las Vegas. In CA it is generally all the services. But OnTrac is the worst. The delivery is on the day but the package gets thrown to the front door or they put it in the USPS mailbox which is not legal. I have cameras so I know what happens.

In LV it is Amazon delivery or USPS. Excellent service by both so far.

Dell is worse.

I bought a laptop on the 5th. Today, I get an email with a tracking number. The tracking number shows up in FedEx's system as having been generated on the 10th (a week ago) but the package shows no activity/movement - FedEx still hasn't received it as of the 17th.

The original deadline was next Tuesday, which it probably won't make because it's being shipped Ground - even from Chicago (apparently their warehouse is in Chicago) that's often a two-day trip, and it probably won't leave until Monday now. But what's worse is that it's a stock configuration I could buy at Best Buy. Jesus H. - just put a label on one and send it to me fercrissakes.
