Gosh! You guys are such whiners; it's starting to get on my nerves. :|
First off, don't try bringing in some political issue to beauty contest. I separate the two. I know when I see beauty. Those girls were beautiful and in fact most of them were models. These girls were very different from past girls I've seen on Miss USA and other pageant shows. Believe me when I say it 'cuz I'm an avid fan of Pageants. I luv to watch them and do watch them.
Yes, I thought it was odd they had virtually all Black ladies with just one White chick. At first I thought it may have been the Black History month thing. But you know why I was dubious? It is not because the women weren't good looking enough. It was because I knew it was abnormal for the judges to score Blacks highly, as by virtue of being dark in skin tone it usually means not appealing enough. Personally, I thought this ladies were gorgeous. I know it when I see it. This is coming from a woman, so you guys should all close your mouths and leave the women alone. We know beauty when we see it. Why does it appear I'm the only lady who's said something here. The rest of you are guys trying to determine for us what's beauty. I don't care if you are a blonde, blue eyes, brunette brown eyes, if you aren't beautiful you aren't. There are ugly blondes, red haireds, brunettes and more. I won't try to sugar-coat it calling some blondie beautiful by virtue of hair colour. I won't do the same for a brunette either.
Besides, if you note, most of the decision-making for beauty pageant shows comes from not just what people look like, but how gracefully they carry it. Look at Miss Texas for instance: She was far from elegance and grace. Miss Kansas on the other hand had that elegance and so did Miss DC. If it was by virtue of looks, I saw so many other ladies representing other states rejected much earlier. This was so in the past pageants too. It's not just looks, for after all I have witnessed unnaturally beautiful/okay ladies win the title repeatedly in the past and they were White in most cases.
Don't be speaking as though you guys have got great and utmost taste on beauty now.
