Nobody but religiotard zionists take Bachman seriously.

You shouldn't hunt unless you're intending to provide for your family or someone else's.

I you only want to take a trophy at least donate the meat to a homeless shelter or something. Otherwise of course hunting for sport is ok, we could all drive to the supermarket. The sport is at least 50% of the enjoyment.

I think it is perfectly ok to hunt if the animal is eaten for food, or if culling is needed (i.e. the deer population gets too large in a given area). To kill animals just to kill them is wrong.

No.

Teddy Roosevelt is one of my favorite historical figures, but hunting for sport is deplorable nowadays.

You should always hunt for sport; waiting around for it to show up is a losing strategy.

What Bachman did was wrong because it was more or less a canned lion hunt - in other words, the lion was not free. They keep them in cages until someone pays to shoot them, and then let them out into a private hunting park. Plus, lI dont think lion meat is very good to eat.

However, I dont agree with what people have said about her. They have called for her to never be allowed back into South Africa - but nobody says a word when other people do exactly the same thing. Its only because this reached the media that anybody gives a damn. Nobody is campaigning to have the law changed to make canned lion hunting illegal. They just want a scapegoat to hate.

That being said, I dont have a problem with hunting in the following circumstances:
1. The animal is free to live in the wild for the majority of its life.
2. The meat will be used.
3. The hunt is sporting - in other words no Smart Guns from Aliens.
4. The animal does not suffer needlessly.

Note that I dont hunt and will never hunt. But I'm not going to crucify somebody who does, as long as they do it in the above manner.

Fuck no. Killing animals just for the fun of it is not OK. Killing should be strictly reserved for providing sustenance or vengeance.

I think some people are too far removed from the food chain and have lost perspective.

As long as the meat and such doesn't go to waste go for it provided the animal you are hunting is in healthy supply.

Absolutely... Just don't go talking about how you're helping to save the species no matter how much money your hunt brings in.

We're too smart these days to hunt apex predators--there is absolutely no justification for doing that.

On top of that, I am going to assume she killed that lion in one of those game preserves in Florida or Iowa or wherever, where they purchase sick and old zoo animals and sell the "kills" to rich idiots that would just as likely shoot their hunting buddies in the face (accident!) as they would the ass-end of their game?

yeah, no respect.

yes, but I don't think that is sport hunting.

For one thing--you can't really eat carnivore meat--it's loaded with nasty bacteria and god damn crazy shit you don't want in your system. Few people that hunt bear actually eat that meat--and the only way to eat it is to boil it until it becomes a rubbery, greasy mess.

fuck that.

I've always felt, that if you want real bragging rights, get a video of you tracking the awesome animal and then getting up close to it without killing it or getting killed. Hell if its a truly trophy worth catch, tranquilize it, measure it and tag it for science. Now that's something to brag about. Killing a majestic animal in the chickenshit way of modern man is pathetic.

Plus, considering the massive amount of corruption in those African hunts, I'll take it with a grain of salt that it wasn't a canned hunt. There's a lot of instances where they send someone out to hit the animal with a sedative or outright maim it so its easy picking for the person spending all the money.

The mayor or former mayor and his young son went to Africa on "safari" and made the front page with his son holding a zebra skin. They put right in the article that the kid shot it in a fenced in area from a truck. It was like yeah, real big accomplishment there...

Hunting game to feed yourself and your family is something humans have done for eons. Big game hunting/killing whatever you want to call it, for the thrill and trophy is not particularly my thing. You probably could not pay me to do it, but it's not something i'm going to crusade against.

With that said, people need to man the eff up. Like NOW. I'm sick of peoples fragile sensibilities and misguided outrage. It's almost as if this woman had cut the spinal cord of a half gestated baby out of indifference to raising the thing..we all know that's outlawed and frowned upon.

Oh wait. :awe:

IMO, yes...as long as the meat doesn't go to waste. I don't support trophy hunting, but am less bothered by it as long as the meat is put to good use. (and that doesn't mean for dog food)

I tend to think that it's ok, in small numbers. When I was a teen I used to go squirrel or rabbit hunting and when I got one I just cut off the tail and left the body. I think I had like 4 or 5 of them I kept in my room.

I didn't eat the meat, but the thing is that animals eat other animals all the time. That squirrel or rabbit was just lunch for other animals, especially raccoons they love that.

I like to think of that scene in Back To The Future part III where Doc is drunk and spewing a bunch of stuff to the tavern patrons about the future and he said people run for fun and for recreation. And the patron says, "run for fun? What the hell kind of fun is that?" LOL Well given the year of 1885 you would expect that response. Now go back a few hundred more years and say that in the future we kill animals for fun. What do you think their response will be? Especially peasants. They will ask do people all live as kings?!

I have two philosophies with animals. Farmed raised animals should live a dignified life until slaughter and if you kill an animal it should be for food.

I grew up with the hunters rule, eat everything you shoot. Going out to kill something is a mark of a psychopath.

OTOH doesn't it make a simple way of identifying the psychopaths?
