That's it. There is a lot of stuff, like "games" and "accessability" etc that I dont need on my machine. And as far as I can tell you can uninstall them within 2k as they are not on the windows programs list. So I'm wondering if you can avoid installing them in the first place.
youve just triggered my memory about a thread concerning 'unhiding' all those options for games etc in Add/Remove programs. They are hidden by default, but theres a file or reg entry you can edit to reveal many more options.
In the Winnt folder go to the INF folder. Open the file "sysoc.inf".
In there you will see a number items with the word "HIDE" at the end of the line. Remove the word "HIDE" and one comma. Close the file and go to "Add/Remove Programs" and you can delete to your hearts content.
I'm thinking that you want an answer file (search the MS KnowledgeBase). I haven't constructed such a file for Win2K, but I've had decent luck with Win95 (I haven't had to install Win98/ME/2K a lot recently ).
Yep, thats the one i was after Bozo.
And SUO, i feel for ya man, all those 9x installations must be tearing you apart , but at least thres some 2k in there somewhere
Thanx Bozo, that brought me very close to what I wanted to do but not all the way, I still cant get ridd of the accessability crap. Oh well I guess billy wont let me decide what need any more than this.
