Cool. Let's have one that is factual and scientifically rigorous. It's time to put the ignorant canard that having gay parents is harmful to an adopted child's development to rest.

(snipped)

Excellent information. Thanks!

It seems like today's environment you are labeled a bigot if you don't accept guys banging guys and I don't understand why.

That kind of behavior, in my opinion, is not something that should be accepted or celebrated. It should not be something that is protected by law. If you want to do things to guys in the darkness of your own bedroom then whatever, just keep it out of public spotlight. But it seems like today's environment promotes homosexuality, it seems like it is "cool" to be gay and like gay things. Since when did this become a thing?

It is unnatural, biologically speaking, and if you disagree then you are disagreeing with millions of years of evolution and I will ALWAYS find you wrong. I can't even believe it is a debatable thing. But I guess here we are. So...with all of that being said where do you stand ATOT? Why is this an OK thing in our society?

Clarification: Just to clarify before I get the witch-hunt out for me I'm not saying to castrate gays and burn them at the stake, I am simply saying why are we publicizing and glamorizing such an act? If you want to be gay be gay on your own time, out of the spotlight. Don't make it some sort of publicized thing that should be 'respected' because it shouldn't be.

Moved from OT for now but still being discussed at the Admin level.

On the other hand some people dwell on this stuff and are willing to hurt or kill gays just because.

I don't get it at all.

They dwell on it because they are closeted gay and hate themselves. They assume all men are attracted to men and all of us who are straight have the willpower to do it and they have an internal fight about it. Meaning they hate to see it as it reminds them of the internal struggle they have and they see men who love men as weak.

What they need to do is fuck and suck.

It seems like today's environment you are labeled a bigot if you don't accept guys banging guys and I don't understand why.

Seems like your issue here (besides the amusing victim mentality anyway) is you don't understand that actively fighting gay rights and seeking to disenfranchise them wherever possible is where the bigotry comes in. Gay people probably couldn't care less what you personally think of them and their lifestyle, it's about rights - the things you yourself would be fighting for if indeed your lifestyle were in someone's legislative crosshairs.
Act like a bigot, get called a bigot. Pretty straight forward really.

That kind of behavior, in my opinion, is not something that should be accepted or celebrated.

You're entitled to that opinion, no matter how much fail it involves. No problem here at all, until you start demanding others follow your line of thinking.

It should not be something that is protected by law.

See above.

If you want to do things to guys in the darkness of your own bedroom then whatever, just keep it out of public spotlight.

The plethora of anti-gay republicans caught smoking another guy's hog would indicate this is harder to do than you would think.

But it seems like today's environment promotes homosexuality, it seems like it is "cool" to be gay and like gay things. Since when did this become a thing?

When ideas or people that have been repressed for a long time gain empowerment and acceptance, sometimes things get festive and people are happy. My advice is to just get on with your life and quit caring so much about if there are people out there who think penis is delicious. This can prove difficult for social authoritarians with religious backgrounds and agendas, but oh well. Liberty and freedom are kind of a big deal in this country, if that's a problem for you maybe it's time to move to a location that mirrors your own personal views on those subjects.

It is unnatural, biologically speaking, and if you disagree then you are disagreeing with millions of years of evolution and I will ALWAYS find you wrong.

Tell that to bonobo chimpanzees, our closest biological relative. You can't even figure out civil rights and you want to tackle 'millions of years of evolution,'? Oh you

I can't even believe it is a debatable thing.

Somehow that doesn't surprise me.

But I guess here we are. So...with all of that being said where do you stand ATOT? Why is this an OK thing in our society?

Because we have this thing called the Constitution, and if you take exception with what's in it and want it changed you'll need something better than dogmatic religious bullshit or odious personal opinion. A better question: why do you and other social authoritarians think it's OK to ignore the parts of the Constitution you don't like? What do you think this is, bible class? I'll stand on the side of liberty. Choose the side of discrimination if you want, just don't be surprised when you get called out on it, or laughed at when you attempt to justify it.

Clarification: Just to clarify before I get the witch-hunt out for me I'm not saying to castrate gays and burn them at the stake, I am simply saying why are we publicizing and glamorizing such an act? Right, it's the responsibility of others to conform to your delicate, easily offended sensibilities. Wouldn't want that contagious gay to spread now would we?

Gay communities try to celebrate and empower themselves because people like you have spent a lot of time and money trying to do the opposite. You are essentially asking "Why can't gay people stay out of my sight, why should I be exposed to their presence?" You realize that makes you sound like a complete pussy, right? I bet if secular humanists asked christians to stop celebrating their religion, to just do that shit at home, keep it out of sight, you social authoritarians would be just fine with that, right? Even though holy rollers go apoplectic if someone merely asks them not to put a christmas display on public land. You guys are funny, always the victim.

I find it funny that personal insults are okay here, but sex talk is not. Its like we are allowed to do adult things on this section in terms of words, unless its about penis and vagina. Fuck head, cool. Your penis goes where?!?!?!?! better not say that shit again!

OP is likely living somewhere rural and has never ever SEEN a gay or has any significant exposure to them, in any way.

(If he were to live somewhere with some exposure to the "gay community", say Boystown Chicago where it *could* actually affect someone's life in some more or less subtle way that gays exist...he wouldn't post this crap here in the first place)

Pointless, stupid thread which should be locked.

I'm rather surprised that the religious aspect of this topic hasn't been broached yet, seeing as if the most influential resistance to the gay agenda has been through the churches.

This is not the answer. If the conversation is shut down, people start to think they are the silent majority. People can't be proven wrong unless there is open debate.

I think everyone is backwards on this. Instead of saying we need to stop hating gay couples, I think we need to start hating straight couples.
"What do you think, Sweetie?"
"I don't know, honey. You pick."
"No, you pick"

Thankfully I was just passing through Ikea. I feel bad for the people who work there and deal with straight couples every day.

My position on this is, while it goes against my personal beliefs, it's not for me to decide who people can be. Just don't get in my face about it, just live as you do, leave me alone and I will leave you alone. Live and let live. I certainly would not discriminate against anyone because of their sexual orientation. I do, however, have an issue with the bathroom thing. I believe people need to use the bathroom, according to their physical gender. I'd have a problem with a guy going into my daughter's bathroom or locker room. She agrees with me and says it would make her feel violated and very uncomfortable.

So to be clear your daughter would feel more comfortable sharing a bathroom with this person:

Than this person:

Regardless of her feelings I find it unlikely that most people would feel similarly.

That's perfectly fine. So you support gays having equal rights?

I'm actually good with the idea that Gay people should be shunned and ostracized from society. The idea that what they do and who they are is un-natural is a great foundation.

I'm also fundamentally opposed to anyone with deformities. I saw a small child on the street who had a severely defformed arm. I walked right up to his mother and told her that she should be ashamed to bring such a horrible, un-natural thing out in public. I didn't spit on the child, but I really wanted to. What stopped me was the realization that it wasn't his fault because he was young and didn't know better. His mother was the one that really needed to be taught a lesson. After that day, I've made a mission of trying to force those un-natural mutations from our view.

I'll have you know that i'm a good christian, which is why I'm not saying that they should be hauled off and put on an island or something. I'm just saying that they shouldn't be allowed in public where my children can see them. Can you imagine the questions they would ask? I would have to explain why God would make a creature so disgusting and that would be too painful to take.

People should be persuaded to shun and ostracize those individual that are so different from ourselves or that they make us uncomfortable.

Thankfully I live in the great state of Indiana and I now have the backing of the state legislature to formally refuse business to those disgusting creatures. I have a small shop in South Bend that sells all sorts of medical appliance for the elderly in the town. Good, christian folks all of them. I've only had to refuse service to a few people over the last couple weeks. There was a blind man, who was born with no sight...another disfigurement that was un-natural and against GOD's Will. I asked him politely to leave...and you know what...he got mad... at me? He was the one flaunting around town, clipping his little stick along the sidewalk. It was awful to see. I told the local Sheriff about it, but he wasn't going to cause a stir, what will all of the Political correctness going around.

I'm just happy to see that there are more people like the OP that believe we should only be civil to the "real" humans. Just like Christ always said, "If you are not born of the same bone and the same skin as I, you shall be shunned by all matter of nature and left to rot on the wastes to feed the lowest of the creatures."

Go Drumpf!
