I'm not sure if I'm very confused, but here's my situation. I have an old fireport scsi card (ultra wide/fast). I'm looking to upgrade my scsi devices and just purchased the ultraplex 40x scsi cd-rom. Now I think it's 50 pin scsi connector.
I'm also looking for a new scsi HD. I assume that a good new scsi HDs are ultra2 and 68 pin connectors?
So when I get a scsi controller card, I need one that supports ultra2 (for the HD) but also has 50 and 68 pin connectors? Or do I get a new ultra2 68 pin scsi card and just use my old fireport 50 pin card for the cd-rom? (thus giving me 2 scsi controller cards) Or do I use an adapter on the 50 pin cd-rom, but I was not sure on the performance effect.
Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks.
