Hi there guys i use xiliosoft video converter to convert my videos. In the process it uses 100% cpu and temp shoots upto 90C then remain at 88 after fan kicks in. i just wanna know if its safe?

That is high even for stock. Post the CPU type, if its stock heatsink, the case and cooling setup too.

If your room air temp is high, the temps are probably normal for a laptop.

Make sure the laptop has good ventilation.

Tjmax is 100C. So still perfectly within range.

Also you cant destroy the CPU via heat. It will simply throttle.

Your CPU tenp is high because of turbo boost. Temperatures can easily be lowered by downloading ThrottleStop and lowering your CPU multiplier a bit lower. It is a really easy utility to use once you figure it out

If you don't care about turboboost at all, just change your CPU max clockspeed in windows power settings below 100% which will disable turboboost.

ThrottleStop lets you keep turboboost but allows you to lower it a little to have better thermals.

How does ThrottleStop behave for a K processor with "turbo-" overclocking? I would assume that it would behave as desired, but I don't have the OP's problems, and I won't bother installing something that I either don't need or doesn't work properly on my stellar, perfect OC'd systems.
