Is it safe to say some of my pee is inside you now?

I've peed.

Peed in rivers, lakes, oceans.

The rivers feed into the lakes and oceans. The aquatic creatures are exposed to this. They are then harvested and end up in canned tuna, at Red Lobster, etc.

My lake pee is evaporated and later precipitates onto pastures where cattle graze. Folks drink the milk and eat these creatures.

What are the odds that at least a molecule of my pee hasn't been broken down and been consumed by someone? Or can I take the homeopathic approach and say that the essence of my pee still remains, while in an immeasurably insignificant amount, it's still there. And now in you right now...

Kinda like asspennies.

Every drop of water on this planet has been cycled through millions of animals before it ever reaches your lips.

In Angels in America, one character notes how when you are smelling something, you are smelling actual molecules of the thing itself. I don't know if that's true, but it's distrubing to contemplate.

It's not like there is a universal "pee molecule" with its own chemical formula.

Well sure. Smell works by sampling molecules or atoms of something, so yes, particles of the object itself are being taken in and analyzed by your smell receptors. It's not like vision or hearing - there, information is transferred independent of the medium. Light reflects off, leaving the original object in place; sound information is transmitted through vibration of particles.
For smell or taste, the particles have to reach you. Time to go out and smell the roses, among other things.

I've tried to explain this to folks and they don't get it.

Yeah that bottled water you're drinking could be the liquid part of dinosaur diarrhea.

"No it's not, I bought it brand new!"

Yeah a T-Rex. It's funny because his arms are too short to wipe.

Every time you breathe, you inhale one molecule of oxygen Julius Caesar inhaled in his life.

He just wraped his tail around the nearest furry mammal and used that as TP.

Yeah, and I laughed like hell when I heard Al Gore try to claim that water is not a renewable resource.

I don't know what his quote was, but perhaps he was refering to Fresh Water?

When is a renewable resource, not?
Fresh water - When fresh groundwater gets used up and no rain falls, sometimes for years. (More then 3/4ths of underground water is non-renewable, as replenishing it would take centuries or more - Ecological Society of America). When chemical spills are so toxic that the water and surrounding soils are polluted for a lifetime (human lifetime). And think about population growth - as some 30-70 million people are being added to our planet every year who will have water needs.
