If you were writing these books in public, then you may run into trouble

Agreed. I've taken this through airport security numerous times without even a flinch from the TSA.

It's a book. Who gives a shit what you read, where?

Who the hell sits close enough to strangers in public to be able to read the words on the spine and cover of someone else's reading book and go, 'Hmm, obviously a terrorist in training, better call the Homeland Guys'?

But don't read it in an airport.

If anyone approached me in public to berate for reading a particular book, they would get enough crap from me that Ray Bradbury would unwrite Farenheit 451

EDIT: Actually read what books you listed instead of thinking of what I wouldn't read in public, and none of those I would have a problem with in public.

I mean the Koran, a holy book? Making of the Atomic Bomb? Hell even Hitler's biography isn't really that bad. Now if you're a Skinhead with Aryan pride tattooes and you're reading Hitler's biography.

"Anal stimulation using household items" is something I wouldn't parade around reading in public. I mean I wouldn't read it at home either, but I certainly wouldn't read it in public.

Especially in a library, pretty much everything is fair game.

In which case people will look at you funny and try to avoid you anyway.

They may be college educated, but they're still idiots.

Eh, I have gotten weird looks when reading In Defense of Atheism and when reading The Bible for Dummies in public. I really do not care either way, I mean they are just books for christ's sake, who gives a crap.

These types of people are also limiting free speech and discouraging independent critical thought, both of which are cornerstones of a truly free and democratic society. Without them, the state is free to trample on the public's rights, and they gradually become too stupid and passive to recognize the threat to their freedom and security.

This is not just wussification, it's downright scary.

If he's asking this question seriously, he's an attention whore.

My GF has a book with a racial expletive title beginning with the letter N. It's actually a pretty good book, but she used to leave it as one of the most visible books in our bookshelves when we first moved in. I had to convince her that not everyone would appreciate that. Instead, people now gravitate to the sex books and like to look at the amateur cartoons in them.

Screw them. Read whatever you want. Those traitors to American ideals should be sent to "re-education camps." That'll fix them.

If I had my way I'd have all of them shot.
