Is it worth buying a PS4 just for The Last of US ?

I basically bought my ps4 just for TLOU. That's all I play and I play it online everyday, it's way better then call of duty

But the game is worth it, I only play this game,
Finished the story and now playing Multiplayer, its great and refreshing....
I would vote yes, Go for it, finish it and play multiplayer for a while until games are released, Great games going to get released next 1-2 months....

That list gives games that aren't released yet or only released in certain areas, so there aren't 177 games available for PS4.

And, I don't think I would count Angry Birds as a real game for it.

If you look at what people really mean when they say "not enough games", which is "not enough AAA games", you get it.

Most of those games are complete crap and not worth playing for free.

pcslookout, I am a new consumer to the Playstation consoles. I have owned an Xbox and a couple of 360's. I was looking more and more toward the PS4 this time around and purchased the Black Friday combo.

TLOU was a digital download, and I have a slow internet speed due to my location. It took me almost two days to download the game. Just wanted to point this out to others who are stuck with crappy internet.

That said, I had very high hopes for the game after hearing so many good things. I am not a fan of games in the third person perspective, I would much rather play FPS.

I am an older gamer; the strong language used in the game does not appeal to me, and I can find no way to filter it out and leave the voice volume up. Reminds me of Far Cry 3.

I am about 7 hours into the game, I am not really into it yet, but I am determined to play it to the end. So from me I would not recommend this game as the only reason to buy the PS4. And after not being able to connect to PSN for 2 days, I'm disappointed at Sony, but I know Live was down also.

I personally think The Last of Us is the best game of last generation from both consoles. No other game had that emotion/great story telling it in. It's worth every penny to play it, plus you'll obviously be playing other stuff too.

In Case you are lazy to read, I got PS3 and PS4 solely for TLOU. No regrets.. Empty pockets though

2 Years before TLOU came out for PS3, it showed up in a GameInformer magazine. As soon as I saw it I said I needed to get a PS3. I was an avid xbox user back then. I got a PS3 the month after, for Christmas, only to find out TLOU wasn't being released for 2 more nears, November 2013 If I remember correctly...

The day it came out, I went to the store and bought it used (a sad mistake because you have to pay for the online pass if it's already been used). I went and paid for the pass. I loved the single player, and I loved the multi-player. I think I did the whole story before even looking at multi-player. I've put a couple WEEKS worth of hours into that game. Spent a whole summer player, and my max clan size on multiplayer got pretty decently high too, like 150, better than most of my friends.

Well life catches up with you and 1.5 years there after that summer, I happen to have some spending money so I went and bought a PS4 soley for TLOU. Guess how many games I had for the PS3: like 5. Guess how many I played? like 3.

I am mainly a PC gamer now by the way.

There are many more titles are going to launch in future so you might get less collection of games right now but at future you have lots of games to play on ps4

TLOU is an amazing single player game, I can't speak for online. It's prob the best single player game I've played since I last played the Metal Gear Solid games.

You're the one always telling people not to listen to other people and buy the console that has games they want to play.

For the right person buying a PS4 to play a PS3 game would make sense. Perhaps someone who's favorite game of all time is a PS3 game that's remastered on PS4.

I actually had the same scenario happen for me with the Vita. The system didn't have a lot of games I cared about at the time I bought the Vita, but it had my all time favorite game on it, with a sort of remaster done to it. Someone could tell me I didn't get my value's worth outta the system, but I enjoyed the hell out of myself playing the best version of my favorite game, for like 200 hours. It was SO worth it to me.

Would I personally buy a PS4 for TLOU? No, but TLOU isn't my GOAT. Guess it comes down to whether the individual thinks its worth it or not, to them. I have no gauge on what someone's personal enjoyment of something is or should be.

If you were to play it online when the tlou came out for ps4 then hell yes it's worth it.
I still play it online every night, and it's by far my favorite game of all time

The game looks unreal and easily one of the best I've played. Not sure if it's a reason to get a PS4, but I'd buy anyway if I was you!
