last may when i was snorkeling, i didn't realize my underwater housing had a leak in it until it was a bit too late. it wasn't soaked inside, but enough water got inside to do damage to my canon s95.
the camera still works. however the LCD screen is completely messed up, and i can't even change modes on the camera for the most part. but i'm thinking i may just keep it in it's current condition and use it as my "underwater camera" until it just dies. the underwater housing has a really slow leak in it, but i can use it underwater for 30-45 minutes at a time no problem. only thing is, i can't see what i'm taking pictures of.
but would it be worth it to get this camera repaired? i really have no clue as to where to even start looking tat getting it repaired, or what is wrong. i'm guessing something on the internals got water damaged and fried. but i don't know since it still works.
anyone have any experience with this type of thing? i paid $400 for this camera back in the day, and it takes pretty nice pictures. i did just get a DSLR, but it would also be nice to have this in working condition to throw in my pocket as well. also wondering if this is the kind of thing i could fix myself if i knew what the problem with it actually is.
anyone know?
