Is Jessica Simpson's airheadedness an act?

For all of you that have heard about some of the stuff she says, do you think she really is that much of an airhead or is it just an act?

Personally, I think the producers probably tell Jessica to act a little more dumb than she really is. But I do believe that she's a spoiled brat.

here ... and I think 75% of the dumb things she says is just not thinking it through... she's just been really... umm... sheltered. You can tell she has a whole different personality when doing appearances not related to the taping of the show itself.

It's entertaining television though... just like it's somewhat entertaining here when people think they're too good for some shows but do nothing other than surf ATOT all day.
