Generally, you can ignore anything coming out of a candidates mouth during the election season. Going on their previous voting record is far more reliable.

Kerry: Yes. As a hunter and a gun owner, I believe that law-abiding American adults have the right to own firearms. As President, I will defend the Second Amendment right of law-abiding American adults to own firearms.

That would position would seem to be at odds with his 'F' rating from the NRA and a 0% from the Gun Owners of America.

This is also the first time I have read that Kerry has a fully-automatic AK-47 as a memento of the war in Vietnam.

Read the interview Field & Stream did on both Bush and Kerry. It's on the newsstands now. Kerry seems like a liar in it to me.
