with KT7 You have to increase multipler 10x1000=1000 but with ktsa its 8x133=1064 which is more stable and better for cpu and video/sound ect.?

You should also be able to run a KT7a at 10x100. I think it's going to be easier to overclock with the KT7a because you can keep the multiplier down.

if i remember correctly overclocking with higher fsb gives you slightly better performance but you need nice ram to go to the higher fsbs.

Am I correct in thinking that although you can achieve better performance by increasing the FSB you also increase the potential for instability? Isn't this because of the stress on other components, i.e., RAM, video card, hard drive, etc? On the other hand, it's my understanding that increasing the multiplier primarily effects the processor.

actually...i beleive that with the kt7A...when you set the fsb to 133 .. the ratio is different...running the system components at the same mhz it should be running at...which makes it stable...the increase in fsb is much better than just the multiplier...

changing the fsb for my system to 105 ( i dont have the kt7A ) increases benchmarks more than increasing the mulitiplier...

are not the kt7a's fsb of 133 by default and the kt7 fsb 100? so you would have to increase the multi more on the kt7 correct and would tfhat in turn be less stressful on other card (video, sound, ect.)?

no the default depends on the CPU. most tbirds or durons are 100mhz if not all. you can choose to try and overclock using multiplier or FSB. I find that 10x105 is slightly faster than 10.5x100 in benchmarks. Since most boards come with the correct dividers I don't think running at 133 will cause any trouble. If you run it higher than 133 that is a different story.

KT7A has, among other settings, 100/33 and 133/33. The first number is the FSB and the second is the PCI. What KT7A lets you do is to FSB to 133 without affecting the PCI.
