are you kidding? this is an invitation to start a huge flame war.

Personally, I would get a mac, then dual-boot with windows.

flashplayer? is that a mac ap?
If you're gaming you're gonna want windows, but then again, you could always dual boot.

Have you ever used a mac before?

I think a mac would be best for you.

They are simple, for the simple...

And it will run your Adobe programs well while allowing you to play browser games.

Fantastic, I think that should be their new slogan.

Like play Prey, rip and re-encode CDs and DVD to open formats, and sync up with my Axim x50v?

You can rip to FLAC using OS X, play Pray using dual-booting on Intel Macs, and sync with "The Missing Sync" on OS X.

OK, let's quit before this gets out of hand (again). I'll bash Apple all day, until WinXP sh!ts the bed on me. Fair is fair.

To answer the OP, go for a Mac. They tend to be more expensive and more reliable, although the less expensive models should suit your needs just fine.

Just so you know, "Is Mac or Windows better???" is a dangerous thing to type on the internet.

they're both good...depends on the kinda guy you are. if you're a microsoft kinda guy, then you go with windows. if you're an apple kinda guy, you go with macs. if you like one or 2+ button mouses matters too. the single button has all the capabilities of a 2 button mouse except it requires a keyboard key to use the "right-click" feature of a 2-button mouse. aside from that, i think they're the same. they look a little different is all

Windows OS on a Mac absolutely destroys the Macintosh OS in performance, according to MaxPC's July issue. Doom3 was only 9% faster in Windows, some other benchmarks showed about 20% advantage, but Photoshop CS 2 vs. OS X PPC emulation showed Windows with a 63% advantage.

So spend an extra grand, get the cool-looking box, and run Windows on it. Cuz after all, the Mac is for desktop publishing stuff anyway, and it's pretty obvious Windows 0wn3s Mac on their own hardware for this kinda stuff...

...with the added bonus of costing one third of what a similarly equipped Mac would set you back.

Though I must admit OSX is teh sexy.

You're an idiot on so many levels I'm not going to even reward your post with a detailed reply.

Yeah, any USB mouse should work right out of the box in OSX.

At least all of the mice (including a no-name $10 mini laptop mouse) I tried in my previous work (in which I worked exclusively with Macs) worked without a hitch.

Haven't you seen the TV commericals with the old guy and young hippy?? PC's get viruses, are hard to setup and are above all OLD! Buy a Macintosh because it's young and chipper, that's why there are so many games for Mac and all PC's do is spreadsheets.

Are there any hardware enthusiasts who would trade in their PC for a Mac? Hell no -- not that I know of anyway.
