Is Monarch always so inefficient?

For those of you who buy from Monarch frequently, are they always really inefficient in getting things shipped out? Last Thursday I purchased an XFX 7900GT Extreme from Monarch (for $329) and it still hasnt shipped out, I also purchased a 2GB kit of Patriot RAM from newegg and I already have it now. I realize the 7900GT is in demand, but come on. If Monarch is having that much trouble filling orders for the 7900GT why is it still in stock and available to purchase on their website? The rest of my PC parts which I ordered LATE LAST NIGHT from newegg have already shipped out. I have a feeling I'm going to have EVERYTHING but the video card this weekend and am going to have to wait until NEXT WEEK to get a functioning system.

I would try, but ChiefValue, newegg, ect, have ALL eVGA/XFX 7900GT's OOS. Monarch on the other hand is still happily taking orders for ALL 7900GT's, even though they cant fill orders from last week.

*edit* It appears Monarch has FINALLY stopped taking orders on 7900GT's, they're now on "backorder".

yeah i ended up buying the bfg 7900gt. i had the evga in my cart but by the time i got ready to check out it was OOS. this was at newegg tho.

did you try calling monarch? maybe it shipped and you didn't get notified?

Yes I thought about ordering from monarch to save on CA tax. In the end it wasn't worth the savings to have to wait 2 weeks for delivery. The web was so crazy on the 9th for the 7900GT, I finally pulled the trigger and purchased from Zipzoomfly. I ordered a eVGA 7900GT 10AM the 9th and had it at 5PM the 10th
Plus the shipping was free, Fedex second day...
I originally bought my whole computer last summer from Monarch when I was still noobish, it took 1 month to get it. Now I know if you want it fast avoid them. Nothing wrong with monarch, they are just not built like a newegg, or zipzoomfly and it takes them longer. I would order from monarch again only to save on tax. just my opinion

I stopped ordering from Monarch because it took them, on average, much longer to ship that ZZF. I don't shop at newegg because of tax. I do all my shopping at ZZF now, with only a few exceptions.

Ive never had a problem with monarch. I happen to like there service a lot. It happens though, I wouldnt mark them as a bad retailer by any means.

I've had great luck with Monarch.

Fairly recently, I ordered a HD from Newegg and they sent me the serial version. I sent it back and they again sent the serial version. I didn't get reimbursement for my return shipping until I posted on resellerratings.com. Odd how my post never showed up.

Now I order my HD's from Monarch or ZZF. They pack them much better anyway. I will never again order a HD from Newegg.

I too have been very happy with Monarch. I've only ordered a handful of things from them, but they've got my orders right and never jerked me around in the least. It does take awhile for the stuff to get here from Georgia, but I'm never in so much of a hurry that I need a part the next day or something.

OP, you ordered your card on Thursday and it's now Monday. That's 2 business days -- hardly an eternity (unless you're on an intrevenous caffeine drip or somethin' :laugh: ]. Call 'em if you're really that freaked out, but chances are they're just really busy right now or something. Yeah, I know, easy for me to say 'cuz it's not my card, but still ....

Anywho, FWIW, Monarch has been good to me.

Well, the thing I'm annoyed about is I'm planning on building my new system and playing some games THIS WEEKEND- and if Monarch doesnt ship it out today (very unlikely) or tommorrow (I can only hope), I'm going to have everything I need- except the Video card. I wont even be able to boot it up to see if it works. Suprisingly when I checked my order it says I have 2-day shipping when I payed for 3-day, I dont know if this is Monarch trying to make up for how long its taking them to ship it out, or a mistake.

heh.. i ordered about $800 in stuff from monarch on a thursday... sent emails on tuesday.. found out they dropped the ball on wednesday.. talked to a "high level" manager during lunch on wednesday.. he said that my bank did not confirm my info (chiefvalue, newegg, ewiz, mwave have never had a problem). anyhow.. he agreed to ship my order, but i told him not to bother.. that it was such a hassle it wasnt worth buying from them.. so i said to cancel my order.. he replies welp then we will just leave it as fraud.. i told him it wasnt fraud.. his reply.. "thats the way i see it".

i complained on hardforum.com... i made no offensive or misrepresented comments.. The admin banned my ip and erased posts from me and about three other people complaining. i assume they got banned as well.

If they post your refund on wednesday.. you probably wont see your money back until saturday at the earliest..

good luck.. hopefully they will treat u better... fraud... hah.. feck that.. i ordered from newegg on a thursday.. had my stuff in hand by tuesday... i dont think ill ever stray from them again

Man, if I had known all this I would never have ordered from them. I'm tempted to cancel my order now, and buy the X1900XT from newegg, only around $100 more, and it'll likely be shipped out early tommorrow.

Wow... I hope everything works out. Everthing I have ordered has well through smoothly but never as fast as the egg. Eversince the opteron craze Monarch custom satisfaction has been going downhill.

as i stated on hardforum.. monarch isnt a bad company.. they arent going to try to keep your money.. Even if u order from newegg i dont think they will get to u till monday.. less u order it today.. they are westcoast so its only 230 there..

i do agree with ess.. bad support since they started the opty coupons.. they obviously cant keep up.. i will never even bother looking at their site again

How about refunding my FULL purchase price of an OEM Abit AX8 board as promised by a supervisor at Monarch. Your company has received my returned item since Jan 2006, but did not post the credit to my CC until March 2006. Talk is cheap.

BTW, your company sits on this order for a week. When I called for an update status, I was told that I would have to wait a month because the item is out of stock. Next day, I received an e-mail indicating that my order has been shipped.

I don't deal with incompetent people who speaks with forked tongue.

This is exactly the reason why I don't order from monarch. I have read too many horror stories. I've spent thousands with newegg and zzf and never had a problem with either. Newegg did an RMA for me and didn't even charge me a restocking fee. Newegg had a slump there for a while too with many complaints but they picked up the ball and ran with it again.

About a year ago I ordered about $800 of components from Monarch. It took three weeks to ship... The order was even shipped with the wrong CPU!

At the time, it was blamed on "growing pains" but I see it is still happening over a year later. :disgust:

I have never ordered anything from Monarch again. Newegg always ships in two days, that is to my door in two days.

fwiw - I was sure to order from Monarch but did. I ordered this monday for a HIS X1900XTX for $430AR(no where else in close to this price) and it listed that it was a special order 4-6 days to ship, no big deal. Well, it shipped out Wednesday and I'm getting it today. So far, so good for me.
