Is my 6800 locked?

Well, I have the ORIGINAL geforce 6800, 12 pipelines. etc... Well, the only program that let's me overclock is powerstrip... Forceware, Rivatuner, and any other overclocking problem doesn't work for me. Is there a solution to this? When I detect optimal frequencies, it just puts my screen resolution back to 60 hz

Puts your screeen resolution back to 60ghz? 60Hz would be refering to your refresh rate...are you using a CRT or an LCD monitor? I wouldn't go by what it says your optimal settings are anyway, manualy overclock it a bit at a time until it becomes unstable and starts giving artifacts or other issues..

mine does that too, must be normal. only happens when i do Detect optimal frequencies. dont_use_that. it's basicly random, and isn't reliable at all. it said that my GT could run at 430/1500 when in reality it's max stable speed was 400/1100.

MyLeadtek 6600gt does the same thing. Can't overclock with Coolbits or Riva. There must be some setting or combination of settings that are causing this.
