I bought this 19" CTX PL9 monitor at Sam's Club for $300 a couple months ago, and I have been at best putting up with it. There are two issues with it that seriously bug me, and I wonder if they are defects in my particular monitor, or in the whole model.
First, when the monitor returns from suspend mode, it doesn't always remember the size and position of the viewing area. This is quite annoying, as sometimes it'll be all the way on one side, i'll adjust it, then it will turn up on the other side or off the edge.
The second is that a little toward the top and right of the middle, the text (and of course anything else, it's just more noticeable with text) is not as sharp as in the other areas. It's definitely readable, but a little hard on the eyes. Mind you that this effect doesn't happen constantly, and that fact adds to its annoyance.
So is this typical behavior for a cheapo 19" monitor? If yes, then I am seriously considering returning it. I have maybe some 20 days left in which to do so.
And if I do return it, what monitor would you guys recommend? I can spend no more than $400 ($450 is puuushing it), I'd like a 19", and I'd like it as flat as I can without having a true-flat or trinitron screen: I am one of those people who cannot get past the horizontal lines.
I thank you for your assessment of my problem, and possible recommendations on a replacement.
