After reading all the advice in the thread about losing weight fast, I want to check with you guys in my diet is okay.

For breakfast I eat a bowl of milk and cereal. During the week, my lunch consists of two slices of wholemeal bread, lettuce, tomato, cheese and a fruit. I drink plenty of water throughout the day. My dinner consists of rice and vegetables and salad. I eat meat about two to three times a week (typically on weekends).

I walk about an hour a day. I do 30 minutes of jogging maybe 4 times a week and play basketball for a couple of hours (with breaks) for two days. I'm now trying to incorporate push-ups, sit-ups and chin-ups into my routine. I do about 70 pistils every morning.

I used to weigh 78kg and now I am 73kg. Its taken me about 4 weeks, so I'm losing about a kilo a week.

My main concern is that I might be eating too less? I don't have much muscle so I don't think I'm losing too much lean body mass.

Any recommendations are welcome.

Thanks

I can't really say much about your diet, losing a kilo a week can be a lil overboard from the usual (1-2lbs) a week. You want to build/maintain muscle and lose the fat, by the look at your diet, you're not getting enough protein. If you're not a (red) meat lover, there are other great sources of protein such as legumes, seafood, soy, whey and etc.

How tall are you? age? assuming you're a male, you want to chip down 250 calories off from your daily BMR (basal metabolic rate) and use it as a baseline...then you can burn off another 250 KCal just from working out per day. You'll have a steady 3500 KCal being burned off which equates to 1lb of fat.

Read our fat loss sticky, it's very informative and I can say it really works. I lost 43 lbs and able to keep off the weight and gained alot of strength and muscle for about a year and it's on going.

The last thing you don't want to lose is muscle, it's your metabolism (including your brain). When you have the chance to read the thread, you'll be better informed.
