I have these L-Arginine-Ornithine pills. They smell just like semen. Does that make me gay?

And I like how in society if a guy is nice it means he's gay.

You cared enough to post a thread listing very stereotypical things as 'evidence' (your words) on a message board known for its complete lack of empathy towards homosexuality or minorities of any kind for that matter.

Meh, we're still better than most of the internet.

Jeebus H, did you read this in the latest issue of Paranoid Homophobe magazine, or what? D:

What did I say that was paranoid or homophobic? As I said: It may be a stereotype, but there are flamboyantly gay people who talk with the lisp, gesture with deliberately limp wrists, and act overtly/forcefully feminine specifically to advertise their gayness. This is how it became the stereotype.

...I don't think you know many gay people.

Well, it's possible you do, you just wouldn't recognize them because most don't present themselves the way you claim that they do.

Once again... I never said that "most" do. Obviously, the ones doing this are the most visible so a minority can easily create the stereotype, but it can still be used to identify that minority if that is their intention.

Exactly, I have some gay friends who act like just "one of the guys"... Although, there are plenty of gay guys who act "gay".

Which is exactly what I said, so why are you saying "exactly" to him and not me?

honestly of all the places I go and frequent AT is the least tolerant of the bunch. surprising for a tech website considering intelligent, technical people are usually above this kind of fuckery but I guess that speaks more to the caliber of people on here today versus when I joined.

I've had more than one gay coworker that didn't actually say they were gay. It was suspected based on effeminate demeanor and confirmed by other means. One accidentally sent a naughty text that was meant for someone else...and I also saw a telling bookmark on his IE Links toolbar when he was watching Netflix on his own laptop at work (Internet tech support guy shouldn't have links from malware...it was put there deliberately). He sold a netbook to another coworker and a sticker on the bottom came from a local gay publication. Perfectly nice guy. Just suddenly quit without warning about a month ago. Another former coworker that never said "I'm gay" could be described as an exaggerated caricature of a gay person. Had his own style / celebrity themed blog. Awesome guy. Loves video games (fighting games, old-school JRPGs, Counterstrike, etc). Didn't really have confirmation that he was gay until Facebook caught on with everyone.

People who act gay *gasp* actually turned out to be gay?! NO EFFING WAY!

Surprised? This ain't San Fran, but we live in the gay Mecca of the South. I've met plenty of gay people. I know perfectly well that they don't ALL do this.

Why are we all of a sudden telling war stories about our encounters with The Gay?

Is it an accomplishment to interact with gay men and walk away alive?

I met a guy like that last week (no semen comment). Turned out he was just from new york where you're either a pansy or an asshat.

Just telling the deniers that stereotypes are based on reality.

Why pretend it isn't so? I've met quite a few gay men that were hair stylists. It's true.

... why do you have such a large sample of hair stylists with whom you converse about sexual orientation...

I installed Internet service for a gay hairstylist. My current preferred hair cutter is gay. I was hit on by another gay hairstylist with a malfunctioning gayDAR years ago. Just anecdotal encounters and experiences that support a stereotype.

Stereotypes are usually based on reality. Otherwise, it's a just a misconception; not a "stereotype."

I have a gay co-worker. I found out to first day he came in to work. I was asking him and a couple other new guys it they were married. He had a 'partner.'

He doesn't lie about it, but doesn't make a big deal about it either. A lot let discomfortable than I thought working with a gay guy would be.

I identify with you Ichinisan;

You probably suffer verbally from the idiocracy effect: "Joe was able to understand them but when he spoke in an ordinary voice he sounded pompous and faggy to them."

What i'm saying is: you are attracting hair dressers and your snowball sampling (via yourself) lacks validity.

Just suddenly quit without warning about a month ago.
sounds like you have a bigoted work environment.

You know how I know you're gay? You ask if your crush is gay on an internet forum.

Nope. The other former coworker contacted him.
Told me the guy had been planning to leave suddenly when some other opportunity came through (and it did).

evidence

1)he talks with a gay accent

2)he bakes muffins and cupcakes for the department once a month

3)someone opened up a new bottle of metformin and commented how nasty it smelled, he replied, "oh my gawd, yeah...that stuff smells like semen!"

nobody has went up to him and asked him yet, but he has never mention boyfriend, girlfriend or anything pertaining to his relationships

does his dick taste like shit? if so, hes probably gay...

If he's a cool guy you wouldn't be posting 'evidence' trying to paint him into a corner. Who fucking cares what he does outside of work? This is the thread equivalent of a sewing circle gossiping about the new girl. If you want to know so badly just ask him instead of opening up a platform for people to make jokes at the expense of someone else's life.

I'm usually with you, but you could lighten up.

I have a good friend who's gay. He doens't 'act' gay, cool as hell, and wouldn't give two shits if OP posted this thread.

You shouldn't be extra sensitive because you are gay yourself. Isn't that actually comforting to the gay stereotype?

I don't usually play the grammar nazi, but that was really bothering me.

Almost all the hair stylists I know or have know personally have been Italian, and have come from families where both their parents cut hair.

Does this mean that all Italians are gay?
