I haven't used the unit in a very long time, but upon plugging the charger into the wall and placing the e7300 into the charger, no lights are on. Nothing is blinking and even after waiting 15 min., the unit is still not active. Is my Sonicare e7300 dead? If not, what can I do to get it to charge again?

While the motor may not be dead, I'm pretty sure the battery is. You can probably replace the battery after watching a youtube video if you are the DIY type. Otherwise your only options are the try the warranty or scrap it.

Rechargeable batteries do not like going un-used for very long. Battery is dead.

No, I have been using a manual brush because the Sonicare heads are very expensive to change. I managed to get a couple and now I want to use it again. However, now the unit isn't functioning at all.

I've had the unit for more than 2 years. Will Philips at least help me replace the battery for a fee? I watched the videos and it looks complicated. I don't know how to solder so this is a non-starter.

very expensive only if compared to a $2 manual, but $9/brush head isn't so bad. They last a good 4 months in my experience.

No, Philips isn't going to do anything for you. You can generally pickup a Sonicare Essence for not much money after $10 mail-in rebate. It's on sale all the time lately.

I have been using sonicare since the beginning (1999 or something). I have gone thru 4 different handsets in that time. They definitely dont last forever.
