Hi guys,
To begin with the error i recieve deals with the tbcspud.sys driver in windows. This is the driver/file identified as causing the error by winXP.
I installed Slackware 8.1 and tried using the OSS (linux open sound system) to get my santa cruz working instead of compiling support
for it in the kernel. Afterwards I booted into windows and Kabam BSOD. I battled to get it to work again however everything I tried, removing old divers clean installing and installing the card and moving it around in the pci slots didn't work. Each time i got the same exact error. Windows would boot and die in a BSOD whenever the card was present. I'd remove the card and the software would remain causing no trouble. Then I'd remove the software and put the card back in and get another BSOD. I forgoed a clean install and did without sound for a while. Today I upgraded my system to an Abit AT7 mobo and tried the card again, now, even on a clean install with no other sound devices or even devices period installed it does the same exact thing, though it will finally disable the card and go into windows. Then in windows i tried the Santa Cruz control panel and hardware diagnostic which tells me that it finds the card though the hardware has some error and that it is unable to write the defaults to the eeprom.
My system specs are 850 duron on an AT7 running winXP Pro with a radeon 8500 and the latest drivers.
Though i feel this to be irrelevant because the card does not want to do anything on any motherboard. Where it first failed btw was
on an MSI kt7266 pro ru.
