Is my sleeping routine unsafe?

Regular sleep patterns are much healthier. The body really does have biological clocks which prefer regularity.

Also, some semblence of a schedule is good for most people's mental health as well. Going to bed because the days is over (i.e. there's nothing left to do) and waking up when the next one begins (a reason to move) helps keep you stable. I had bad sleep habits in college, and some days couldn't concentrate in even a 10:00 class. I'm much more clear headed and focused now.

My "normal" sleep schedule is go to bed anywhere from 9:30p-11p depending on how tired I am, and I wake up around 4a-5:30a pretty much everyday.

There is a saying that I go by, "The hours slept before midnight count as double." This reminds me how important it is to go to bed early.

Your bones and muscles grow while you sleep. A regular schedule provides stability and optimizes your growth.

You need those sleep hours in excess of eight because your body is exhausted.

There is a researcher of the Bonobo ape that hypothesizes that humans were able to evolve beyond an ape due to our ability to create a bed in the tree limbs. This bed provided comfort and safety that allowed the sleep routine to reach the REM phase. Thereby allowing increased development of mental capacity. Article

You will not reach your full potential without a better structured sleep routine.
