here is a different perspective:
did you see the movie "The Animal"? it was a stupid sucky movie, but one thing struck me in it. the black guy in the movie was trying to NOT get special treatment. he got a supervisor's job at the airport after working there for just 16 days whereas the white guy had been there 5 years and no promotion. this mob of people were hunting down this guy who they thought was "The Animal", and the black guy showed up and said he was the animal and the mob just broke up cause they weren't going to harm a black guy.
throughout the whole movie the black guy was just trying to get treated as one of the crowd and not have people overcompensate for him being a minority. he really didn't want special treatment.
so... this lady isn't giving you the best job? buck up and do it. she doesn't owe you any favors.
I never said she owed me any favors, I never complained about doing the job and I have been and will do it. If we were picked at random to do the job, I wouldn't care, but it just doesnt seem that way. I just don't think it's right that she gave all the crappiest to the minorities if that was her intention.

What do the other kids get asigned?
Stuff like taking down and putting up drapes, sweeping/mopping the floor, replacing batteries in smoke detectors and bulbs for the lights, cleaning, rearranging the rooms, etc.

If you do nothing here, you will only perpetuate the racism against Asians because of the stereotype that Asians do not complain and are content with where they are. This is why there are only a few Asians in the top ranks of corporate America. Do nothing and let your people keep getting stepped over.
It is also why we don't usually get the girl and why most Asian chicks would rather date people of other races.
You're right, but I think I will continue supporting the stereotype
Actually, I would consider myself a lot more confrontational than many other Asians, I will usually speak up. However, in this situation, since I am playing the race card, I don't want to deal with the potential complications and backlash. Maybe if I knew for a fact that she was discriminating and had more of a case against her, I would report her.

Talk to the old lady. See why she is assigning the work the way she does. Maybe there is a good reason. If not, complain... if all else fails, report.. After all, you don't want to perpetuate the stereotype that asians are servile...
I agree with geecee.. maybe she just doesn';t want to assign the jobs to the white folks because she knows they will complain and bitchh and moan... etc...

Perhaps that's why the 3 Asians got assigned "crap" duty? She's actually only racist against the black person and just doesn't want to deal with the whining and complaining from the white people about how the job is beneath them?
lol
