what's 50 box?

35c for a cpu temp is actually quite cool. My XP2000+ ran 55c under 100% load.

No.
35c for the CPU is fine, 50 for the box is a little warm, but not too bad either.
Maybe put a case fan or two in and that will lower the temp if you are worried about it.

Well, that is actually damn fine. My CPU right now is at about 70C and my system temp is around 34C or so. I don't think that the Volcano 2 is very good. Anyhow, that tempurature is great!

it sounds like it was hot there......90's..? those temps for the box sound hot....but not if it was hot in your computer room.......what ever your doing to cool your cpu..keep doing it.....your cpu temps during the 50 degree case temps are great!!.....

Are you sure it's not 35c for your case and 50c for your CPU. It makes no sense that the CPU would run cooler than your case, especially 15 degrees cooler.

jcmkk, exactly my thoughts when I posted the initial reply. Anyhow, even 50c for the cpu is well within spec, and should cause zero problems.

It is ok. I mean, it wont hurt your CPU or anything, but with the cooling in there, it shouldn't be that high. I just noticed you are running an Alpha which is why it seems a little high. What are you using for thermal compound? What are your usual temps? What fan are you running on that Alpha? I've heard that some people have better luck with their fan sucking air from the heatsink instead of blowing when using an Alpha. You may want to experiment a little.

i used arctic III on the cpu. my usual temp is about 43 degrees, i think.
i'm using the fan that came with the alpha.

i'll try your tip.
