Is Newegg competitive anymore?

I don't get near as much from them anymore. I tend to get a lot more from Amazon and Dell(who has real sales). That and the fact this egg savor DHL to USPS crap blows.

They are decent, but over the weekend I built a new system. I compared Newegg to my local MicroCenter and MicroCenter was about 10% cheaper, no shipping and I could have the parts that day.

Yeah MC has chosen not to be as ridiculous in mobo pricing as they have been in the past. I remember looking at the DFI LT P35 there and they were listing it at $300+ while Newegg was listed at $229. I said if you can match it I'll buy it, manager came out and told me "best I can do is $289" in which turned and walked. Times have changed though, if you look at the P55 mobo prices. Barring a $10 difference, the gouging is nowhere near as bad as before. The CM212+ was also $10 cheaper than online (when I got it anyway) - it seems MC is realizing you can't rip off people anymore haha.

I used to buy from newegg exclusively, but now not so much. I shop around and get the best deal which is becoming more and more rare at newegg.

My last PC, I ended up getting CPU and SSD from Microcenter, mobo from newegg (refurbed), memory from Frys, video card from Amazon, power supply from the compusa closeout I still have, the case from a clearance from bestbuy, the blu-ray drive also a clearance from BB, and the TB hdd from ZZF.

For the most part all places with decent enough customer service where I could return things if needed and did on a couple of items like my video card.

Newegg is good though for the images and sometimes reviews.

Newegg needs to move to North Dakota so they wouldn't have to charge taxes, between taxes & shipping, I don't buy from New Egg any longer.

I still use the Egg, but it is true that now that they have built up thier reputation, their prices aren't as competitive as they once were. That's what Frys is for!

newegg has gone down hill the last 4 years they used to be the first and only place i would look. now i rarely order from them

If it was the only place you looked how do you know it was competitive.

They'll have some great deals on a few select items at any given time, but overall their prices aren't that great anymore.

After they took 6 weeks to refund 2 separate items that were listed in stock but were in fact back ordered, I stopped buying from newegg and joined amazon prime. Amazon's customer service is outstanding, and they almost always do the right thing .. Newegg's customer service used to be great but now the agents all rely on firm policies vs. doing the right thing.
