I still use Newegg for stuff when I purchase online. However, if you live near a MicroCenter, you can often get even better prices, sometimes even including the sales tax difference (especially vs shipping). Other times, they are very close or equal in price. For instance, their price on the i5 2500K is $179, a full $45 less than Newegg. I got my M4 128GB for $149, which is $175 on Newegg.

Since I work 10 minutes from one, I didn't buy a single component for my new build online...and I paid a total of $145 less than I would have from Newegg, including tax.

I like how the Egg has so much selction and such good pictures. I think they blazed the trail in the number of photos they put up on computer cases.

Not computer parts related but scored a great deal on NE this weekend.

I've been looking for a inexpensive solution to a home theater set up in my den. Didn't want to go with the multi speaker/receiver set up due to multiple reasons. Ended up reviewing soundbars which will be perfect for what I wanted. Ended up set on the Polk IHT 6000.

Everywhere has them listed at $499 which is more then I wanted to spend. Even used, out of box ones on Amazon and EBay were at around $350. So I made up my mind to take a chance on the $350 version.

I had forgot NE had home theater equipment and did a quick price check. IHT 6000 on a 2 day sale for $279. SOLD! I love NE!

When I get around to my new desktop in a couple months I'll probably be going with a combo of micro center and amazon, but looking up model numbers of what I want on newegg. Amazon basically only appeals to me since I Java prime and can habit my stuff in a day or two every time, an micro center has some great deals on CPUs and motherboards often, plus it's only a short trip on the freeway.

Newegg is great for looking at specs and comparing things, as I find their details on things like motherboards are way better than anything amazon shows. If I didn't have prime, most of my electronics would come through newegg.

Was having some minor issues with my system and so I wound up buying some possible replacement RAM -- ordered overnight and received it in 1 day. Turned out not to be the RAM and returned the unopened sticks using a UPS store. The day after I mailed it out I was already credited back the money (took another day or two for credit card co to post it). So pretty quick. Can't say if the RAM worked or not, but I was blown away by the 1/2012 build date on the RAM considering I RECEIVED it in January. Seems like some pretty good inventory management / just-in-time.

Might be a hot item that goes directly to DC's and larger customers (like NE) right from the Mfg...

Man, I wish we had a MC or a Fry's close by, as much as I've used the egg to save $45 AND have the toy the same day is win/win!!

Amazon for *SOME* things. Newegg is still king, but with tax+shipping in CA it kills me. I bought a few things off Amazon for my NAS like my case, and HDs. That's a huge chunk of cost there and with prime shipping... YUM. Newegg's 3 day shipping pisses me off considering its easily doable next day given their proximity to me.

I primarily buy from Newegg, but their prices differences for products don't seem like a big difference as compared to say 5 years ago. I mainly buy from them because they have excellant service and they've never screwed my orders up before. In fact, now that I think about it, I've only had to return 1 item in the last 6 or 7 years that I've pruchased from them, and it was because I ordered the wrong thing on accident. I don't build pcs for a living like some of you do, but I ordered stuff from them pretty often.

Like many have said on here already, their website sets the standard as far as product information, reviews and navigation. Anything I want, I can look up pretty quickly and have all the information I need right there. Hard to do on Amazon and the like. If I had a microcenter or fry's locally here, my story might be different, but for me NE is the place to shop.

Been shopping at Newegg for ten years but on occasions I went with Amazon because they did have a better price on some components. I really think it is a day to day type of thing.
