that particular patriot uses very good samsung tccd's great for overclocking.

you never know you might need it down the road to squeeze more performance out of your rig.

I would get the Kingmax on sale if you aren't going to OC. If you are get the Patriot.

I've had good results with Patriot memory in budget machines. If you are making a hardcore box though you should look at Crucial Ballistix, OCZ Rev2, or corsair XMS.

PDP Patriot XBL will be better than any of the memory stated above since it uses TCCD.

Thats it, now remember, if you'r overclocking its very good memory, if your staying at stock, it's no better than value mem.

Yeah the memory you listed is not the TCCD Patriot, that stuff is like $230 a pair. If you need to save money go with the Corsair. If you want something that overclocks better you can get the TCCD Patriot, XMS PC4400CS2 (Corsair), OCZ Platinum Rev 2, or G.Skill 4400LE if you can find it.

Huh? The link he posted was PDP Patriot XBL TCCD, how are you to tell me, I have the ram and it does 280 Fsb. It's probably the one of the cheapest ram with TCCD chips, all I said was PDP Patriot XBL has tccd which it does. And the mem he posted was $235.

EDIT: You know it's TCCD when it states it does Extreme Low Latency (2-2-2-5) at 400MHZ

I run this model in my NF3/A64 system. The highest I have had it is 260MHZ at 1:1 @ 2.85V. Works great, I am very happy with it.

I'm building my new rig now and that's the RAM I've been looking at for awhile. For how it performs, it seems like a great value.

For your motherboard, you may want to look at Anandtechs SLI Roundup found
here: http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2358&p=1
It's a great resource and helped me decide which I wanted since they are all so similar
in many ways.

Got it off Monarch for $170. Arriving tomorrow.

Anyhow, just a suggestion.

I've used Patriots 1GB PC3200 DDR dimms in multiple systems for 1GB dimms they're cheap and they work fine @ cas 2.5 too.
