Do you mean he's a cockroach or that he's intelligent and should be listened to?

Edit: Oh okay never mind. I remember Francois being praised many years ago when he was still with Intel. I follow him on Twitter and others. Someone dug up some old posts of his on a website and managed to link him to it where he dragged people and insulted them while lying through his teeth. Dude's a nut job and he manages to bring him his Godzilla out of nowhere. And by that I mean his overpriced Skyline, otherwise there is no godzilla to be found on his person. No one who degrades others so much for correcting him will ever have anything of value down there. I wouldn't be surprised if he was pushed out of Intel. Going from Intel to MBZ seems like a massive downgrade in careers.

The guy that tweeted the first test of Core-M Broadwell, with a single CB run and then an infrared shot of the device to show that it was cool and didnt heat up, i would say that it was even glacial at first looking at the freezer in the same room, enough to understand that with this guy everything is sleight of hand...

He shouldn't be listened to. He's been posting crazy bad predictions for Rome for a long time now and saying how basically if Intel had just listened to him years ago, they wouldn't be in their current position with 10 nm (tip, he no longer works for intel).

He deleted a bunch of his Rome/Ryzen3000 predictions because they turned out to be terribly wrong and underestimated them in both frequency and performance per clock. Now he's trying to revise his own history:

I am completely unaware of this incident, tbh.

Yeah. I thought I was one of the few people on Twitter who didn't think highly of him and that many did. I guess I was wrong in the latter portion of my opinion. I'm fairly convinced he was asked to resign given his brashness and some other rumors I remember hearing/reading years ago. I mean MBZ spends a fortune each day on research, especially AI, but it isn't close to what Intel spends.

I think when he worked for intel people respected him more because of his position, especially since intel was so dominate at the time. Once he left (or was asked to leave) intel, I don't think people cared nearly as much about what he had to say. Even then I think he had some fans for being so open about his thoughts on social media. However, once Zen landed I think all that changed as it became more and more clear as time went on that either he had no clue what he was talking about, was so biased that he twisted everything to the point of breaking trying to make AMD look bad and intel look good, or a combination of both, that pretty much nobody actually listens to him anymore.

I'm not too confident with your assertion. He wasn't the only Intel engineer who was known. He was simply outspoken like the few others. His reputation has always been nasty and nice, alternating between the two. I don't know why and nor do I really care. I read his tweets from time to time, but I found his abrupt departure and 2+ year gap between him quitting and taking a job at MBZ very interesting, since you think he'd be someone who was highly sought after having been one of the top dogs for a groundbreaking uarch and pushing others equal to him to the top for over a decade, and even still more than that before AMD hit them back in the early 2000s. It's not like his little AI project took off. I'd never heard of it until I saw his Linkedin profile to see what he was up to a year ago. I read a fair amount of AI stuff. I don't understand most of it, but I like to be informed.

He's being used to fine-tune the AI/overall capability of Mercedes Benz's new MBUX platform which uses AI and augmented reality and is the future for the company and it won't be limited like the outgoing system. I'm sure of this because there'd be no reason to hire someone with such caliber, especially when he could have taken up residence somewhere more prolific and at an Intel level, and not a car manufacturer.

When I say people, I mean average joe forum/social media person. I'm not talking about his reputation/respect level by others in the industry.

I'll never forget him saying on Twitter how Haswell would inspire an upgrade cycle much like Conroe did.

When I asked him what happened in regards to this, a year or two later, he didn't respond, he just blocked me. LOL
