Is Shadow Complex worth $15?

I played the trial and I like the metroidish style of it all. I just don't know how much game time I'd get out of it. I usually don't go back through under different difficulties but I do usually look up guides and have no trouble going back through to 100% one or 2 playthroughs. I have a bunch of points in my account and I'm torn between this or waiting for the MW2 map pack.

I thought it was worth every penny I paid, I loved that game. Trying to get all the items and fully completing it was a lot of fun.

It's worth $30. It's not as good as Super Metroid (obviously, since that game is often considered one of the greatest games ever made), but it is well made, fun, and you'll get the same type of enjoyment. I would label the game as great if it weren't for a few logistical issues that I wish they would have changed.

I would have guessed YOU'D think so... out of the 13ish friends on the leaderboard you're by far the top score in everything.

At any rate, I finished it up 100% today. Took a decent chunk of time but I messed around a decent amount too. I think I clocked in around 8.5 hours to 100% the main campaign. Probably put another hour into some of the proving ground stuff. I might make another run on a harder difficulty to get my level up before I try a minimalist run.

I found the aiming to be okay, even though the 'fake' 3rd dimension caused some issues at times. The one thing I didn't like (although very minor) was the flashlight. It lasts for so long and recharges so fast that I don't even understand why the made it consumable in the first place. All it did was cause me to pause to hit LB every once in a while. Doesn't make any sense. I also would have preferred each direction in the Dpad to be a special weapon instead of cycling with left and right. There's 4 weapons and 4 directions... why didn't they do this?

Either way, very small things and the game overall was damn fun.

Its in my top 20 games ever. It is absolutely fantastic, definitely worth $15, I wouldn't feel ripped off if I spent $50 for it, the game is AMAZING.

I found collecting all of the power-ups (although I did this the first time through), getting infinite foam so you can break the game, and trying to do sequence-breaking speed runs to be a lot of fun. Plus I enjoyed the game so much that I liked playing it through multiple times. Your stats carry over and there's an achievement for leveling up to the max of 50. There are harder difficulties to attempt as well.

It's my understanding that 50 isn't the 'max', as you still can level past that and still get stat bonuses. It's just that at level 50 you gain the last of the perks that come for every 10 levels (full map, infinite rockets, etc...). The guide I was reading may have been wrong though, or they may have changed it in a patch later than the guide was written.

This is all just 2nd hand info though. If you've tried and know first hand that you can't go past 50 then I'll believe it.
