Here's a tale about women's sizes from Uncle Fritzo:

When I was first dating my soon to be wife, I thought I'd get her some sexay lingerie for Valentines Day from a local shop. They asked me her sizes, so I said "34C and a size 10 panties (because that was jer jean size). They looked at me funny but packaged up my order.

On V-day, she opened the box, and inside were a pair of panties that about 3 people could fit in.

I'm wearing 34" jeans from aeropostal right now and they fit perfectly... but I tried on a different pair of 34" cords at the mall last week and couldn't even button them.

Yes my girlfriend is short, but she's gotten a little pudge from eating out which is why she complains. there's other women i know who are taller at 5'6 or 5'7" even (Asian remember so that's definitely tall for them), and size 2 or 4. My gf's roommate is definitely smaller size (i dont have the exact # but I can inquire) than my gf, and she's 5'7".

Trust me, 8 is chubby.

8 isn't obsese or fat, but there's definitely a little fat somewhere. Now as for Beyonce she's got a little bigger build. Also being black means you have a bigger booty. That's where some of the size 8 is going. She's curvacious and she's good looking, but she's not skinny.

ATOT has a lot of people who I would consider fat. I remember that waist size poll. If you're bigger than 36, you're probably fat. TallBill is an exception because he's a body builder but we know that is not hte case for most people on ATOT.

I've had pretty good luck with pants. I wear a 30" in nearly every brand I've tried. Shirts are a different story. Depending on the fit I'm either a small or a medium.

Your chart shows 29-30. 27 inch waist is perfectly fine in a girl.

it may be a perspective thing then. im a huge mofo, 6'3" and a tad over 300. was in shape at about 235 and loading semis/ building stage sets, but im in round shape at the moment. ive always been large, so a 5'5" size 8 seems small and skinny to me. but i wouldnt call a size 8 woman over 5'3" fat. for that matter, i wouldnt call a size 14 woman fat either. women are evil, and hold grudges.

I don't think it's that much of a perspective thing. I fit a US Medium fine. In European sizing, a medium would be too small for a good number of brands. So I move to L. M is medium. M is average. There's a reason it's L and XL. Otherwise we would've shifted our sizes up more so today's L is an M and so on.

I may be average Asian male in the US, and I'm 1" away from average US male height anyway. I have friends who are taller. 5'11" and 6ish or so. 180-190 is about typical. Back when my 6' friend was a little over 200 people used to make fun of his beer belly.

The fact is in the US I think we're more tolerant of weight in general. I agree. I don't think a size 8 is fat where I wouldn't touch them with a 10 foot pole. I think they're on the thick side. It's not skinny nor is it smack dab idealistic.

Here's a question: What's Megan Fox's dress size? Or Scarlett Johansson? Or Jessica Alba?
