You left out female also. They probably do it the most.
I'm not sure it's even worthy of making a judgement over.
It's a door. You should be prepared to navigate through it on your own without any sort of emotional response.
That's a totally different situation though. If you hold the door for someone pushing a stroller then that person will be in front of you and are likely to immediately do something annoying like stop in the doorway to adjust the stroller/baby or block the aisle or barf on the floor. There's a reason the first people to be thrown off a sinking ship are people with strollers. When my first son was born I worked nights and I took him everywhere during the day in his stroller. The only people to not hold the door for me were women about 25% of the time they would let the door slam into me or my son depending on if I was pushing or pulling the stroller not once did a man ever do that. Being a man with a baby it was a real eye opener not sure if it would have been different if I was a woman.

^^ The hipster door
I have found that the majority(90%+) of guys will acknowledge the fact that you held the door for them, while very few woman will even glance your way, much less say thanks.
I used to be the type of person who held doors.
Years of people not returning the courtesy with a simple thank you or acknowledgement finally took care of that problem.
Nowadays I only hold doors for people who are most likely to hold it in return and\or say thank you.
When you work in a diverse workplace, you soon figure out who is going to say thank you and who is not.
You can say it; it's whitey.
I normally speed up and ride their backs so I don't have to open the door myself.I always hold it open for others, but really, the best thing to do is not to even look back because then you're obligated to hold it for them. Unless they're right on your tail that is.
Big thumbs up on this policy. At work we are supposed to use our badge to unlock the door. We are not supposed to "hold the door" as they want everybody to badge in. So, anybody who doesnt hold the door is merely doing their duty.
