most insurances do pay for suicide... some not full amount, and most will only pay after you have that insurance for a certain period (like six months or so).

The punishment for failing to do something as easy as killing yourself is called shame.

More seriously, the law won't punish you any further because you don't need any additional depression. At least in America, you're now considered a victim and are expected to receive "treatment." (Couseling and Prozac)

Life insurance doesn't pay out for suicides. I wonder though, what's the logic behind that? Are you somehow less dead if you kill yourself? Are they worried that people will jsut start killing themselves willy-nilly?

That's exactly what happens although it's usually someone finds out they are losing their livlihood or are diagnosed with a mortal ailment.

They take out a huge policy and go stick a gun in their mouth somewhere and leave a decent legacy to their family.

Insurors don't like sure things unless it's money in THEIR pockets.

I'm not suicidal if that's why you're asking. My life isn't perfect but I have too many things going for me and that I want to do before I grow old. Besides, suicide is frowned upon in my society.

and suicide is not the solution so i'm glad you didn't ask the question b/c you were contemplating it.

So am I Besides, I like hardships. Don't get me wrong, I don't go looking for trouble, but I would rather be in a difficult situation than an easy one because you learn more from losing than winning. And if you win, the rewards are that much sweeter. That's just my philosophy.
