Church traffic workers can't block traffic on a public road, it's illegal. The cop is there to make everything work better for people on the road and coming on to it. It's a valid public service.

Cops direct traffic to and from the carwash right next to me all the time. It's called detail duty. Whenever a place is expected to have a lot of people going to and from a location, and a busy road is involved, there is usually a police unit stationed to direct traffic. So quit the religion bashing and get off your soap box.

no, because most churches don't have street lights that have a turn signal into them. So it is needed on saturday or sunday to have a cop be the street light for that area of the road in front of the church. He would do it for your atheist meetings too if there was too much traffic bunching up because of it.
