A lot of the members here use the DS3L, its nice, stable and cheap from what I've seen, considering getting 2 of em for crunchers, in any case it's a good board if you're in the market for a new one.

4GB ram installed using two different brands.

L version has everything I need and none of the stuff I dont

That's exactly my feeling. It's a very solid, basic board. I'm happy.

Used that nice board to build a system for my in-law's business recently (Q6600, 2X1 GB, 2 - 750G WD's, 2 opticals, etc). Absolutely rock solid, fired right up w/ no issues. May have to get one myself. Edit: It was a Rev 2 board.

I have a DS3R which is pretty much the same thing. In fact, I have no idea what the difference is. All I know is my northbridge heatsink looks like a space ship from Star Wars. As far as I know, that's the only difference.

I installed a DS3L into my friends rig with an E6750. I Oc'ed to 3.0 ghz with absolutely no problems at 1.375 volts. He loves it.

ok this is stupid but i forgot i had a ds3l....................... i had replaced a friend of a friends board and the ds3l was sopposedly messed up . i came home looked in the closet and there it was put my stuff together and it booted. not a bad board. couldnt overclock my e6300 as good as my p5n-e but im sure i had to tweak a lil but my e6600 is doing 3.1ghz good on it right now.

so here is the million dollar question
stick with the p5n-e sli or stay with the ds3l?
i dont care for sli.

Thumbs up here as well (Bios F7 works great for me and gave me extra mileage 419 X 8). I have now settled it down for the long haul ... I hav efound the best settings for the E4500 and wil leave it be

few cons now that have been overclocking the past days are

1. memory overclocking isnt as good as my p5n-e sli which i was already suspecting. but i cant do 4-4-4 have to do 5-5-5- and at lower speeds. but i dont care really

2. no 1t 2 t options again i dont care not like ill feel it with out benching.

3. this most shocking one. VDROOP!!! omg i thought my p5n-e sli was the worst , the ds3l is really bad. i got to pencil mod the p5n-e i cant find any pencil modding for this board.

wish there was a thread dedicated to this board like the ds3r does. maybe i should start one.

For example 1.47 set in bios cpu-z reporting 1.392 under full orthos load.

Yeah, the vdroop is really bad on all of the gigabyte P35 boards. I set 1.425v in bios, I get 1.360v in CPU-Z.
