Is the Gamecube that good?

I have one on the way. It was hard for me to decide between the cube and the xbox. I hope I made the right decision. It is more for my daughter (For her sixth birthday) so I would say it will be just fine. I can't wait to see it in HDTV!

I noticed when I went to Circuit City this weekend they had a great deal for the Gamecube.

Buy a Gamecube and you get Zelda:Windwalker and a silver wireless controller free.

I gave in and have all three systems. That being said, I have the most fun on my gamecube, because I'm wicked good at Smash Brothers Melee. My sister has been putting extra hours in though and is now beginning to woop me pretty badly.

Buy a GameCube for:

Nintendo first-party titles (Mario, Zelda, Metroid)
Entertaining party games (Super Smash Bros., Mario Party, Super Monkey Ball)
Resident Evil games

GC is that good F-Zero and Mario Kart soon

I like it, Zelda and Metroid are fantastic. Super Smash Bros. and Super Monkey Ball 1 and 2 are great. I haven't played Pikmin, that is supposed to be a good game as well.
I'm looking forward to playing Mario Golf, Star Wars Rebel Strike, F-Zero, and Soul Calibur 2.

If it's your only console, you get left out of some of the multi-platform titles but many of the big sports ones like Tony Hawk, SSX, Madden, NBA Street, Tiger Woods etc. are all on the GC.

Going from the Dreamcast to the Gamecube. I know my daughter will love it. I just have to find Sonic DX for cheap. That is her favorite game on DC.

Be warned: the GameCube version is reportedly inferior to the Dreamcast version. Sonic Adventure Battle compared more favorably, but Sonic Adventure 2 (which it's based on) wasn't as good a game as the original Sonic Adventure.

She has played the demo at wal-mart. It looks about the same. The graphics look slightly better too. She wil be fine with it. Looks like most say the GC is an alright choice.

I have the Cube and love it for multi-player purpose but hands down to the PS2 for it's online play. As for your daughter the Cube should be great it has plenty of great games but only some games have better graphics then the PS2 and Xbox.

Personally I love my xbox, nothing imo tops a couple of tv's and playing CTF. can't wait for halo2 thats xbox live enabled. Also XBMP is one of the awesomest homebrewed apps!

Gamecube rocks! I don't recommend Eternal Darkness for your six-year-old daughter though

She might like Super Monkey Ball.

I love my cube. Just picked up Mario Golf for it last night - most addicting golf game ever.
Sure, they suck for games not made by nintendo...but boy are those ones good.

but my modded xbox gets more usage playing divx and what not
