Is the internet getting crushed right now?

This might sound strange, but earlier today internethealthreport.com and several other internet status reporting sites reported that despite a few blips, traffic was moving fine. However at the time traffic was actually moving very slowly near where I was. Now tonight it's doing great, but those same sites are showing several major networks getting just crushed. Anyone know what's happening? I certainly can't see anything out of the ordinary. Here's the site I'm checking.

http://www.internethealthreport.com/

If you notice several network links are in red, some in amber, enither of which is good. Anyone else having internet latency issues? I know I'm not, but I thought I'd ask and see if anyone else was.

Yeah, I wasn't figuring that anything actually slowed down. It was just strange to see that many red squares. Of course upon closer review of that chart, it appears Quest's network is the one going Fubar. Everyone else is fine. So I guess as long as you're not on quest, or passing through their network, you're fine.

It's not me. I've been seeing occasional periods that have been very slow in general and seeing several sites timing out and/or appearing to drop off the net for the last couple of days. (Net connection out here is through Qwest.)

Don't know if this relates to the latest Cisco vulnerability that was announced last week, but nearly all of their routing and switching products are vulnerable and it's only a matter of time before easy-to-use Cisco-disabling scripts start popping up. I've patched my equipment out here, but there's a lot of Cisco equipment out there on the net.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Hackers have been taking blatent pot shots at our routers a lot lately too. They must get some big sexual rush out of disabling someone's network for no good reason. Kinda like the rush CR gets when neffing in my threads.

Woh, just checked the chart and now it's sprint and parts of Level 3 that are getting whacked. Ouch.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I thought things were a bit slow today too. I surf so much and am so in tune with the Internet that I can just flat out 'feel a great disturbance in the Force.' Our local connections are fine. But once we get a few hops out it seemed a good bit slower than usual.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the cisco bug. I've seen lots of attempts at taking down our routers using this new bug. Man, don't you just hate script kiddies who have nothing better to do than to make someone else's life misserable??

Nobody else noticed that 180ms is marked as "critical"? I guess everyone on dialup is in "critical" status, cause they don't ping lower than 120-180ms most of the time. In fact, most dialup users on AVERAGE ping 200-400ms. The whole thing is bogus considering it has to be under 80ms to be "healthy"? Or I am missing something ...

It's considered critical because those are core routers and not dialup connections.

Taking nearly 2 tenths of a second to pass through one router in NOT acceptable.

Just look at a few of those times! Someone needs to get off their lazy posterior and provide broadband to rural Indiana, but that won't be happening until the human race as we know it is extinct. :disgust:

And BTW, I've been at work all day, so I didn't notice (not to mention that with my connection, I wouldn't notice anyway).
