Is the mousepad dead?

When I walk around at work I don't see anyone using one...

I also went without for quite a while. Then I bought a huge gaming mat to see what the hype is all about. I would say it's the biggest upgrade you can give a computer, especially if you have become accustomed to a blank desk.

However, I think expensive mice are a complete waste and often lower quality than the cheap stuff. After going through a couple, hundred dollar mice, I now use a $5 mouse with new teflon feet and a $30 mousepad. Pure heaven.

I started using this little travel mouse in 2010 and have been using it since then.

If I use a regular size mouse now it feels weird.

This little guy slides well on pretty much any surface. So, my pant leg in the airport or the wood on my desk at work.

I use one. After a while the desk wears out and it creates rough spots that the mouse gets caught in. I find a piece of paper can make a nice mouse pad actually, but it has to be changed occasionally.
