The old "Divide and Conquer" technique has been used by humans since the Middle Ages. Some examples of it's use in 20th century include, the British rule in India, World War II Nazi Germany, and China. Surprisingly, the Republicans have seem to make use of the "Divide and Conquer" technique. I am not talking about it's use on race or skin color, but rather it's use on the "rural and urban divide".
The "rural and urban divide" clearly shows a contrast between where the two parties are mostly supported. The Republicans mostly get their support from rural counties, where as the Democrats get most of their support from urban counties. As time goes on and the number of sub-urban counties dwindle as they get upgraded to upgraded to urban counties, the contrast starts to become more stark.
