Is the X850XT PE goanna go down in price?

I know that they aren't making any more 6800GTs because of the GS and other cards have been discontinued so the price would go up. I'm just wondering if/when the X850XT PE will go further down in price or it's going to be/is being discontinued, resulting in price increases...

I would get the X800 XT instead and overclock. My X800 XT came as 500/500 and I am able to run it constantly at 540/560 which is close to the X850 XT (540/590) and its half the price. Ati had a deal which latest until the 16th where the X850 XT was being sold as 300$ CDN but the day I got my bonus it went back up to 600$. I got an X800 XT AIW for ~400$ CDN and I play all games at 1280x1024 4x/6xAA & 4xAF and it's sweet.

Considering that the x850xt is the last of the high end AGP cards, I doubt the prices are going to come down soon. In fact, I suspect they'll continue to be very pricey as many people are just not ready to get a new PCI-E motherboard in addition to a video card upgrade.

The PCIe version of the XTPE is certainly headed down, pricewise. It's just not competitive with the $280 after rebate 7800 GT at any price > $220 or so. That's why you have all the X850XT in sheep's clothing you see from all the manufactures.

But in the AGP world, it's the only game in town. So, $250 AR @ microcenter is as good as it's gonna get for a while. At least until the X1700 AGP comes out.
