Is the Zalman CNPS7000-AlCu compatiable with the CHAINTECH VNF3-250 Socket 754 NVIDIA nForce3 250 motherboard?

If yes, how do you get the heatsink attached to the motherboard with that black bracket already attached to the Chaintech mobo? Do you have to detatch that black bracket in order to attach the Zalman? Thanks!

Go to Zalman's web site and find out. They've got a mobo compatible listing for all their CPU coolers.

Yes the HSF will fit. I just put together such a combo today. In fact the larger 7700 will fit based on my measurements (have one, but not installed yet). You will need to remove the stock black plastic bracket from both top and underside of the board. The Zalman should come with a replacement metal bracket with two brass nipples. The bracket goes underneath the motherboard and the brass nipples gets screwed in from the top. The 7000/7700 HSF screws into the brass nipples using the same screws as for the P4 setup (minus the aluminum arms).
