Is there a HD modulator that also handles SD

I am wanting to switch our video/audio to high definition,the house is wired with quad sheild coax need something that will modulate the HD to a TV channel so it can be distributed all over the house on existing wire to be picked up by the HDTVs HD tuners

At present you'd be limited to OTA and/or possibly a few cable channels, assuming your cable system has unecrypted HD channels available and all the TVs have QAM tuners.

Bird Dad, if you're using OTA, then you can use a ChannelVision 16 channel active splitter to distribute the signal coming in off your roof / attic television antenna. This will distribute fine over the RG6 quad in your home, but every television is going to have to have an ATSC HDTV tuner. If your TV's need an HD ATSC tuner, you can pick up an external box and install in each location, something like a Samsung DTB-H260F. I need something where I can in addition to ant chanels I can add a couple of channels from my blu ray /dvd drive and have them modulated as a channel for the TV to get.
Channel Plus does this with analog dvd/vcr connections so you can see them from any tv in the house just by going to a channel
