Ah damn it. I'm having issues with the AOSB camera. When I load it up it works for a bit then it locks up and says "can't connect to the camera." I'm not sure if I should go with a different camera app or what. The AOSB page on XDA says they included an app called "camera restart" to fix this, but I cant find it. Everything else about the ROM appears to be solid as hell though.

CMD, hopefully you'll see this...are you having this problem?

Also in regards to the Slim rom someone was mentioning...could you point me towards it? I'm not sure which one to download.

Yeah that is what I meant by "Only real advantage of S4 is GPe ROM." The S3 camera has never been 100% supported in CM or AOSP due to drivers. That is what is so nice about a GPe rom, its basically AOSP plus the drivers that a third party can't fix.

I recommend finding a skinned Touchwiz ROM instead for your S3. Something with the evil ripped out.

I don't have that issue nor an app for camera restart. What version are you on? Currently on 1.32.

Ok son of a gun...I dont think I have the most recent version then. Under "About Phone" I'm showing AOSB KitKat version 1.2.9. Is that the version you're referring to? Damn, I downloaded the zip from the official thread on XDA, but now I see more recent ones on the probam.net page.

Yeah...you want 1.32. I assume you are using d2lte correct? If so grab this and flash it. You can try dirty flashing but I would clear data etc again just in case since it is a couple versions newer.

And now I'm a little interested in this GPe rom deal Poof's talking about. I have a lot of disposable cash right now that I could drop in a heartbeat if I was inclined to want an S4. =)

Slim Roms were my favorite, they are so small and phones run so fast with that ROM on it.

Really? They retroactively locked S3 bootloaders? Evil stuff.

Blame our carriers. Note 3 is locked on AT&T and Verizon, Unlocked on T-Mobile. I don't know about Sprint.

My GS3 does everything I need a phone to do, and then some. I'm sure at some point it'll start to feel "old," but there would have to be a compelling reason for me to upgrade. I'd just like to go off-contract from AT&T if I could (with, say, a Nexus 5), but where I live, coverage is sparse so no can do.
