Is there a peaceful religion?

I looked at pages from the Quran - Verdict: Wtf?
I looked at pages from the Torah - Verdict: Wtf?

All three of them are pretty much identical.

So what about Buddism? Hinduism? Scientology?

Buddism, Taoism and Confusionism arent religions. They're philosophies.

Sometimes people add them to their religion or use them as a substitute for religion.

But yes, the three big ones all pretty much talk about the same god, just in a different view.

I wont talk about Hinduism because I dont know much about it.

Getting back to the original question, pretty much all religions are inherently peaceful.
Its how they've been twisted and warped over the years by evil people.
My advice is go to a church (or whatever) that doesnt seek to blow up, extort or control one of the other religions.

Every single religion that exists says you can be saved by what YOU do (which is nothing but pride), but God says it is what HE has done by allowing His son to die on the cross for you. Man cannot save himself from sin.

In the Bible, there are definitely examples of people living in sin and who do not show true peace within them; these are examples of people who either at that time were living in sin or for most of their lives were living in sin, and we are not to follow their paths, but warned to be wary of them. But there are also examples of people, like Paul and Jesus, who had peace within them that was so great that they could endure so much and affect the lives of many because they lived by faith and according to the Word of the Lord. There are also many examples of no earthly peace on a national level. Unfortunately, as long as we are living in a fallen world, there will always be wars and violence because of the evil of our hearts. But when Christ returns, and after the judgement, there will be true peace both internally and externally over all the earth.

Unfortunately, for this plan to work out, everybody has to be christian, and not everybody wants to be christian. You have to believe Jesus was the son of god, performed miracles, and that we're all guilty of the original sin. So there's the problem there--we can all get along if we believe the same thing, which will never ever happen. Christians themselves don't agree, otherwise there'd only be one sect.

Quick question though: are you talking about religions as a whole (for example: there's different kinds of Christians, right? Like Catholics, Protestants, etc.). Because then it would be difficult to say as some of these sects (?is that what they're called?) are stricter than others.

I'm pretty sure this is with all religions.

Well said. The Old Testament is the covenant with the Israelites where God exacted swift justice against all sinners. The New Testament is the new covenant where God reserves judgment for the sake of Christ who died for us. It is the teachings of Jesus and his disciples that show us how to live in peace and at peace with one another.

Christians who would advocate violence are not following the teachings of Christ and should be reprimanded by their brethren to remember that it is not our position to judge others.

Though its rather ironic one of our most holy symbols is the Swastika. And btw, I eat meat, drink, etc. so while I agree with Jainism's broader philosophies on life I am not a devout Jain.

The question was which religions are peaceful. Not which religions you think are right. It's sh1t like this that causes tension between different groups of people.

IMHO you have a little too much pride in the tenants of YOUR religion.
