Huntsman comes to mind, still unsure about Christie. It's largely irrelevant to me though who runs - I simply cannot vote for any GOP candidate while they continue to put party before country, pander to the religilous, and have people like Mitch calling the shots. I'll start voting repub again after about 90% of them are shown the door. Bush and Palin like puppets need not apply. Corporate aristocracy like Romney need not apply.

Anyone and everyone. I want to see if the epic train wreck that was the 2012 primary can be surpassed somehow.

Ron Paul is the only prominent Republican that I actually respect, and he's too old, so I guess the answer is no.

The list of Democrats who I'd like to see run is pretty short too.

I was a Paul supporter aswell but he was too extreme on a few issues (I agreed with most all of his stances) that many conservatives are not ready to adopt. I think Rand is almost exactly like his dad and is just playing a much better game than his old man. He knows he has to be a moderate on some issues.

He is practical and smart, but not slick. To me he showed leadership with the BP mess.

I am sick of Presidents that "I would have a beer with." I wouldn't want a beer with Bobby, but I would let him file my taxes in a heartbeat.

As a resident of Louisiana, my state originally had the same opinion as you. Over the past year or so I've seen the states attitude towards him turn for the worst. He came into office with an air and ambiance similar to Obama, where people thought they were getting an intelligent person who would really do good work. Alas, we've sobered up to the fact (just like Obama, who I've voted for twice) that they are just another damned politician.

Bobby's failure at further gutting the middle class with his "tax reforms"

Bobby's looting of our public school funds ruled unconstitutional

I think the concept is OK, they just need to be picky about what schools qualify. When I lived in Louisiana I was in a private school and my parents didn't dream of putting me in a public school. All my cousins that grew up in Louisiana attended private schools. My whole life I was told the public school system in the state was unacceptable.

Soon as we moved to Texas I was put in public school and remained in public school. And honestly my elementary private school in Louisiana was the biggest academic challenged I faced till college, and I moved in third grade. That place would be worth the tax dollars, so would others I think.

On the tax thing, Louisiana needs to repeal the state income tax. Argue how unfair it is in theory all you want, but with Texas next door with right to work and no income tax you have to do something to compete for jobs.

I'll start:

Clint Eastwood.

Nope, I am done with Republicans. They are way to nutso to even consider now. I will stick with a more saner candidate thank you very much. Hillary, Biden, some one closer to those two.

Sure. Whichever one has the balls to end the war on drugs, tell people they need to consume less not more, and promises a full audit of the fed with the intent to end the fed if it required.

Beyond that cut congresses pay to that of 125% the average American earns and end their pension and health insurance plans.

So in other words a third-party candidate?

Ron Paul or Gary Johnson.

I don't trust Rand not to turn into a neocon once in office.

I could vote for Clint Eastwood just for the lulz. Couldn't do any worse than any of the presidents we've had for the last 30 years or so.

Yeh, we don't need any enforcement of civil rights statutes. Businesses should be able to discriminate on the basis of race, just like the good old days.

Glad we agree.

Yeh, we don't need any enforcement of civil rights statutes. Businesses should be able to discriminate on the basis of race, just like the good old days.

It’s a matter of what his ideology is in line with and what he could actually do as President. Sort of like Obama and single payer system, closing Gitmo, huge redistribution of wealth, etc.

Kind of falls back on the Ron Paul sludge that was thrown around. Speaking on what he could and couldn't do as President. Ron Paul WINS!!! Fed is abolished day 1, all troops are within CONUS in less than 24hrs, all drugs are now legal day 1, gold standard is the new norm day 1, etc.

Absolutely none of that could happen, what he could do is veto asinine bills and force Congress to read them, start winding down our ridiculous foreign policy, be open to individual liberty agendas (gays marriage, no conservative social legislation, etc.), establish a sane dialog for immigration, etc.

You might not like it, but a conservative that has some libertarian leanings would have quite a few opinions that liberals can actually agree with. It's those things they can do that matter, not the gold standard extremes that could never happen. Conservatives would like their individual liberty issues as well and small government fiscal stances. Liberals would probably favor a libertarian’s foreign policy much more so than a true conservative in the traditional sense.

No one politician can make everyone happy, but as of late they have all been either admired or hated entirely by whichever party shares or opposes their view. I'd like to see that change and if we got a Democrat that offered something similar which is possible with blue dogs I'd take a serious look at them.

Well is it one I would like to run or one I would like to actually have a shot at being President? I don't know if there's any Republican that seems to have a chance right now that wouldn't rank as the absolute worst human being in history to hold the office of President of the United States were they to run. I guess there's a small chance Chris Christie wouldn't be horrendous. The problem is the Tea Party are basically a group of the worst people in this country and they are who Republicans have to cater to in order to get elected.

As far as who I'd like to run, purely for comedy sake of what stupid thing they'd say next, well that list is long. Rick Perry and Ted Cruz would be great simply because I feel the country needs to see as many examples as possible as to why Texas is simply the worst place in the world. Mr Dry Mouth Marco Rubio I'm sure would provide entertainment as well.
