Is there a Republican you would *like* to run for president in 2016?

Well is it one I would like to run or one I would like to actually have a shot at being President? I don't know if there's any Republican that seems to have a chance right now that wouldn't rank as the absolute worst human being in history to hold the office of President of the United States were they to run. I guess there's a small chance Chris Christie wouldn't be horrendous. The problem is the Tea Party are basically a group of the worst people in this country and they are who Republicans have to cater to in order to get elected.

As far as who I'd like to run, purely for comedy sake of what stupid thing they'd say next, well that list is long. Rick Perry and Ted Cruz would be great simply because I feel the country needs to see as many examples as possible as to why Texas is simply the worst place in the world. Mr Dry Mouth Marco Rubio I'm sure would provide entertainment as well.

Internet toughguy showing what a moron he is. You leftists who are some of the biggest hypocrites around are the worst people in this country. Wanting to take away the rights of innocent Americans and take away their money.

I came in this thread thinking it would be a reasonable discussion as I, genuinely, am pretty lost at this moment to think of a candidate that would be worthy. Then I realized that it was being used as yet, another, opportunity to bash the right.

I'm not a tea party fan nor do I live in Texas, but I can tell you right now that they are not the worse people in the world, I reserve that for people that would cut someones head off in front of a cheering crowd, or maybe drag one of out guys behind a jeep until his skin was gone.

In any case, there's no one that I could really get behind at this juncture, but just about any of the republicans mentioned in this thread, with the exception of that fat bastard Christie, would be better that the ass-hole holding the office now and will be 10x better than Hillary or Biden.

Go away boy, adults are talking. You need to learn to keep quiet when your betters are having a conversation. And yes, I'd say that right to your fucking face.

Damn, you're one angry person.

Actually you should take your own advice, you will never vote Republican so why take part in a conversation where your opinions don't matter?

I'll never vote for a monster. The Republican party now only nominates monsters. I'm not opposed to voting for a member of any given party so long as they're an actual good candidate, the GOP just doesn't offer those up any more and hasn't for a long time. Note, the thread wasn't who we wanted to be President it's who we'd like to run. Which leaves the door open for the conversation of who we'd like to lose badly. And I'm not angry at all, Incorruptible just continues to prove how worthless of a person he is and is the prime source of the degradation of P&N, so I won't tolerate his crap.

I am partaking in a rational conservation while you just came to troll around and you enjoyed your left wing circle jerk. If you said that to my face I would school you and then tell you to fuck off.

This is the hypocrisy I love so much about all of politics. Enjoy protection because of letter depicting your political pov.

For all the talk of race, as a nation we are more intolerant of the color of ones politics than the color of ones skin. Done so in the name of tolerance no less.

Is there one who can be beaten by Joe Biden? If so..please nominate him/her...

I don't want Biden to get elected...but then again, I don't want a Republican either...

Could this possibly be Ron Paul's time?

Nope...I don't think so either.

You must be joking. Tea Party ideas got eaten alive by mainstream Republicans and social conservatives. I know people like to use Tea Party as a catch-all for rightwing political extremists, and maybe that is what it has become, but they don't control the GOP in either case.

I feel the country needs to see as many examples as possible as to why Texas is simply the worst place in the world.

Yes the state that is the biggest economic powerhouse in the nation right now, and is providing a disproportionately large amount of newly created jobs in the US, is the worse place in the world.

I sure hate that sub-6% unemployment rate in my Texas community, it makes it so I have trouble empathizing with less prosperous parts of the nation.

Have faith BoomerD! The Ron Paul Revolution is imminent.

The "Ron Paul Revolution" was much more than one mans name. By all intents and purposes his "Revolution" is still happening and has had a very large impact on both parties and the MSM.

Off Topic, Phil Mickelson just won the British Open and during a post interview he is still pissed off at multiple 2nd place finishes at the US Open.

Only one I can think of that has not drank the crazy drink is Huntsman.
But he's not nutty enough to win the republican primary.

John Hunstman.

How fortunate for liberals that the only types of people capable of passing the tea party Primary purity test have not a prayer of winning the general election.

Ditto, Huntsman was an awesome gov, he is an R but very center.

Republicans....or do you mean tea-publicans? The former is a rare breed nowadays as the latter has taken over the party.
Is that why Republicans have passed so many balanced budgets and not raised the debt ceiling? Because tea-publicans have taken over the party?

Those things didn't happen. Because tea-publicans haven't taken over the party. And McCain calls them "hobbits." And Boehner fights with them constantly. Because there is a civil war still going on in the Republican Party.

Unfortunately, "tea-publican" has multiple definitions since original Tea Partiers were for things like a saner foreign policy and at least auditing if not ending The Fed and cutting actual money from budgets. Then the establishment neocons and Bible thumpers used the Tea Party during the election, and now the Tea Party is somewhat coming back to its roots again. ...So it's hard to know exactly what someone means when they start talking about "the Tea Party."

The Tea Party ARE social conservatives. No matter what they claim the candidates they've gotten elected consistently prove themselves to be the MOST social conservative members of Congress and mostly horrible people (which is really just a redundant statement). And while they are a small pocket of the GOP, for some reason they are able to hold GOP ideas hostage until they get at least partially their own way.

First off when using the acronym, it's RINO. Second, Christie has on a couple of occasions shown to be about the only Republican in power willing to put what's right before what the party wants. I realize to most Republicans that's a grave sin, and that's why people like me that aren't insane mostly hate Republicans. Cruz on the other hand is all about party and politics first, action and actually doing things for the citizens of this nation seem to rank somewhere around 143rd on his list.

What were those occasions?

Is that why big neocon Republicans like Boehner (some say Cruz has some neocon tendencies himself) are often at odds with Cruz? Is that why Cruz goes against Boehner and most of the party on raising the debt ceiling on a whim? Is that why Cruz joined with Rand Paul to want to pass a bill that says you can't drone strike American citizens on U.S. soil even though most Republicans love drone striking everything?

And since we're talking about drone striking U.S. citizens, how come Democrats don't care much about that sort of thing? Majority establishment neocon Republicans siding with Democrats on drone strikes... is that one of those issues they are putting the people first on?

Mitt Romney.
He should have a whole new set of positions by then.
HAHA, now that's funny.

Whoever it is it has to be somebody who people want to vote for and not vote instead of. Romney was pretty much an "instead of" candidate, at least to me.

I'm almost speechless at how wrong this is. Agree with him or not but he seems to be just about the most principled politician in a generation.
