Never got around to trying Five Guys just yet.
I've been happy enough with the burgers from the nearby In-n-Out, Whataburger, and sometimes the Hangover Burger from Twin Peaks (that and a breast of fresh mountain air)
Five guys burgers and frys are incredible. Best chain burger bar none. In n Out is also very good but Five guys comes out on top (and also costs twice as much).
Umami burger is better
My experience has been the opposite. My second (and only non-negative) experience with Five Guys was probably the most bland burger experience I've ever had from a chain. Not the worst, of course, but completely plain.
Holy shit that's insane.
I've never been there, but maybe this chart is way off. Serving Size for the fries says 567g
By comparison, McDonalds is 154g at 500 calories for large fries
The closest single thing I could find on McDonald's menu to compare is the 40 piece chicken mcnuggets at a colossal 646g and 1880 calories
Huh? That is the nutritional info, not the ingredients. There are natural sugars in potato, that is why the fries have a value for sugar.
My family and I share the small fries, and it's enough, sometimes we have some leftover because you've already eaten a burger.
The large is insane. It could easily feed 4-6 hungry adults who aren't gluttons, and are also eating burgers.
Just like everything else, moderation. If you're going to eat food like this, don't do it everyday, and don't gorge yourself.
Hamburger and cheeseburger have bread and cheese which contains sugar but look at the fries. Should only be potatoes, oil and salt. Why is there sugar in the fries?
Is sugar what keeps people coming back??
If you check out other burger joints nutrition charts there is 0g of sugar in fries.
I've done a lot of research on sugar. Apparently, sugar is the most addictive substance on earth. One studied showed that sugar was 8 times as addictive as cocaine. Cigarettes can contain up to 20% sugar, which is supposedly the hidden addictive part of smoking (know anyone addicted to nicotine gum? no? how about nicotine patches?). Same thing with alcoholism - it's simply a sugar addiction with the added benefit of a buzz. Sugar = tasty & addictive, which means that if you add it to all of your products, it will keep people coming back for more!

1314 calories for the large fries, mmmm.
