Never got around to trying Five Guys just yet.
I've been happy enough with the burgers from the nearby In-n-Out, Whataburger, and sometimes the Hangover Burger from Twin Peaks (that and a breast of fresh mountain air)

In Dallas? Go down to a place in Deep Ellum called Uncle Uber's. Very good burgers or get their fried chicken breast sandwich, which I add cheese to. Very good. Angry Dog is across the street and they're fantastic as well, but a lot more variety. Don't sit near the back of Angry Dog, it's stinky.

I don't care for In n Out. It's pretty bland, even that Thousand Island mayo blend that they do. Five Guys is better, but the places I listed above are preferred over them.

My experience has been the opposite. My second (and only non-negative) experience with Five Guys was probably the most bland burger experience I've ever had from a chain. Not the worst, of course, but completely plain.

I prefer 5 guys vs just an in-n-out, likely due to the taste and variety 5 guys provide... it's also a good value. I think it's milkshakes that seal the deal.

Five guys burgers and frys are incredible. Best chain burger bar none. In n Out is also very good but Five guys comes out on top (and also costs twice as much).

sorry bro but shake shack > in n out >>>> five guys

The burger meat is completely plain at 5 Guys; I've been to three in my area and they are all the same. The bun is what makes it good. I say that because I'm allergic to gluten, so I can't eat the bun & have to get a lettuce wrap when I go there - the meat is completely tasteless. The Cajun fries are amazing, but the meat has no flavor. The bun is where the magic is.

BurgerFi is like 5 Guys but with flavor in the meat

A bacon cheeseburger with fries and a drink ends up being like 1500 calories. It's nuts. When they opened up one in my town there was a line around the block. I used to be an In N Out guy but last time I was home I kinda lost the taste for it. I need to find something new.

Holy shit that's insane.

I've never been there, but maybe this chart is way off. Serving Size for the fries says 567g

By comparison, McDonalds is 154g at 500 calories for large fries

The closest single thing I could find on McDonald's menu to compare is the 40 piece chicken mcnuggets at a colossal 646g and 1880 calories

My family and I share the small fries, and it's enough, sometimes we have some leftover because you've already eaten a burger.

The large is insane. It could easily feed 4-6 hungry adults who aren't gluttons, and are also eating burgers.

Just like everything else, moderation. If you're going to eat food like this, don't do it everyday, and don't gorge yourself.

we often stop when travleing for work

a large fry is enough for 4-6 grown men with a lot left over if each is also having a burger

Huh? That is the nutritional info, not the ingredients. There are natural sugars in potato, that is why the fries have a value for sugar.

If you check out other burger joints nutrition charts there is 0g of sugar in fries.

Yeah we get the small to split between 2 adults and 2 kids. we usually have fries still in the bag. though i don't eat very many fries I just don't care for them.

Hamburger and cheeseburger have bread and cheese which contains sugar but look at the fries. Should only be potatoes, oil and salt. Why is there sugar in the fries?

Is sugar what keeps people coming back??

I've done a lot of research on sugar. Apparently, sugar is the most addictive substance on earth. One studied showed that sugar was 8 times as addictive as cocaine. Cigarettes can contain up to 20% sugar, which is supposedly the hidden addictive part of smoking (know anyone addicted to nicotine gum? no? how about nicotine patches?). Same thing with alcoholism - it's simply a sugar addiction with the added benefit of a buzz. Sugar = tasty & addictive, which means that if you add it to all of your products, it will keep people coming back for more!

I like both five guys and In-n-out just fine. In-n-out isn't coming to the east coast so i'll continue to enjoy five guys.

Five Guys. For when you want something a bit more upscale than McDonalds', but Wendy's is too classy for you.

1314 calories for the large fries, mmmm.

I had the size for 1 person and before that it was just whatever they considered the small. I don't know how any 1 person could finish large fries. It is entirely too much if eaten along with a burger. And this is coming from someone who can eat a whole pie of Digiorno's in 1 sitting.

Here's how you build the regular size fries:

1. fill regular size container with fries
2. place regular size container into paper bag
3. fill paper bag with fries

Ehh, I have been there once. I love a good burger, but, their burgers are mediocre, and their fries are awful.
